Hey people.... guess what! i discovered a ROCKING feature in my T39 (

(R3B006) Message writer...(I don't know if this has ever been posted on

this site before.... atleast I haven't seen it, so please excuse me if

it's old).... However, I thought it was damn good to let it pass

unnoticed, so here it is.....

This tip is for:
1. The people who do not use T9 at all ie they are more comfortable

with multi-tap.
OR
2. The people who use T9 who want to add words to the dictionary with a

speed comparable to the T9...

The Basics:
We all know that the different numbers on the phone correspond to 3 or

more alphabets (eg. 2 corresponds to a,b,c.... 3 corresponds to

d,e,f...).

The Method:
Now suppose you are in multi-tap mode (english only) and you want to

type the letter b .... you would press 2 twice right?
Now try this.... go into multitap mode.... slide & keep the side volume

control up and just press 2 once.... a b appears.......
want a c? then slide the side volume control button down, and while it

is kept down press 2 once.... a c appears....... this works with all

the keys except 7 and 9 because they have 4 alphabets associated with them...

In short:
The sliding up of the side volume control will give the second alphabet

corresponding to the number and the sliding down will give the third

alphabet associated with that number....

Tell me if it works with other Ericsson Models too.....

Hope this tip was useful.

Bye

Or even better, use a datacable or other method of connecting ur phone to ur PC/laptop and use that to type your messages. I find it much more useful when i'm at home, just leave it connected all the time.
