Is it possible to share the internet connection esteblished via datacabel with my Palm Device? The scheme is: make a connection described in the 3 post between cell and PC and then connect somehow my PDA via BlueTooth using the connection esteblished.
Any clues?

Thanks, it works on my k700i via Bluetooth with Opera Mini java app.
There is only one problem, I have to start my browser by the DeviceExplorer. If anybody have any idea how to resolve it, please tell me...

You could maybe do it through HID. If you can set up a macro (on the pc) to connect the device explorer, then use a HID to execute it you'll be connected from your sofa.
I was gonna set all this up but since k800 has BT PAN, I'll wait for it. I'll probably end up doing it anyway |

Here is the most simple way & efficient way:
>>>>>>> It's only important to connect phone via "Connection Proxy" (i hope that you know how to do that), to activate "file > serial networking" from "Device Explorer" & to start some java browser (example: opera mini) from Sony Ericsson Device Explorer (attention: you must start opera mini from PC (from sony ericsson device explorer) cuz if you start opera mini from phone, then it won't work). You don't need aditional setup in phone, simply don't touch the phone . <<<<<<<<<<<
It MUST WORK !!! |

How come many guys say they can start the apps directly from the phone and it would work (as long as connection proxy is loaded...)?
I know it doesn't make sense for the profile to look at 192.168.1.1 (how will it know to establish a BT connection first and then search it?), but I tried opening and connecting connection proxy, then starting from the phone, but it didin't work neither.
Can anyone confirm they open the browser FROM the phone and it works?

Dan_Aykroid,
Application to be started from PC. If you have ADSL modem or Proxy LAN you have problems with browsing Internet from mobile.

Isn't there a way to make the phone "look" over bluetooth when starting applications from it?
I tried first connecting the proxy and then starting, but didn't work neither...
Any ideas? |

it's impossible coz SDK emulates the opening of inner ports in mobile for entering Internet according to direct PC internet connection. If u need, i should attach the log of such connection with emulating.

What do you have to do to THEN be able to open them from the phone and make them work? Cause I connected from PC, then tried opening from phone but it's still the same...
Can you tell me every step you made? Thanks.

Hi guys
Here is a simplified manual, this one is translated from dutch.
I've made the original dutch manual by the way and I learned all this by using the information in this topic, so kudo's to jamshedd for all the work he did 2 years ago
To start Opera-mini or another java applet from your phone you need some little files and checking to get it work.
In the manual some links are dead, so I'll point you to the original links, also made by myself.
minibrowser
list.bat
desktop HID
In the manual you can find out how it works, I only wanted to add some links that work.
The desktop HID is limited to 2 commands, you can define the # and * to start an applet on your phone by activating a desktop icon.
On other forums there were problems to get HID working, the newer bluetooth drivers are able to act on HID command from a phone without first making a HID connection on your pc.
Device explorer works best when you first make a bluetooth serial connection to your phone, whithout this connection device explorer sometimes is not able to connect to your phone, the proxy can't always make this connection by itself.
I hope this helps
On Opera.com you can find the newest Opera-mini 2.0, it now also can download files and it works smoother.
André

Nice work man!
My HID isn't working... but with any button from the numeric keyboard... I don't know why, but they just don't get to the computer...
Might the that I used BlueSoleil before (it worked) and now I'm using MS Stack? Maybe it doesn't work with it or something... any clues?
EDIT: Also... what were the others doing that claimed the could DIRECTLY start apps from the phone? (you bloody liars!!! )
