I don't think its a good thing making the driving that realistic IMO. Im sure every one loved going 200 mph and making these sharp turns, it was great fun when it was not realistc. The main part of playing a game is to escape realism and have a laugh. If I wanted realistic driving, I would jump in my own car. That is a small moan about the game, other than that its great.

About the IGN review, I definately think the review is very biassed, ok, the graphics are good, but definately not worth a 10. COD is a sort of game that desserves a 10 in graphics, but if you look at some of the detail in the shops and some other parts, its not a 10.

@Kwiksta

Yeah, the car handling is a bit harder than it was in the previous games and the camera is way too slow!

So, how far has everybody got? Anyone unlocked all of the islands yet?

I'm only on the 'rigged to blow' mission for Faustin, haven't had much time to play it unfortunately

I guess this kind of game can't be for everyone. In the same way I don't like games like Halo 3 or similar. And how I love car games like Gran Turismo, but some people don't. I love Grand Theft Auto, but not everyone is into that kind of thing.

The only real complaints I have about GTA 4 are:

1. It's sometimes too dark! Even with the in-game and TV brightness levels up, it can be really hard to see sometimes even during the day which can cause you to fail a mission.

2. It still has some very "unfair" missions. This has been my biggest gripe with all of the GTA games; some of the missions aren't challenging, they're just downright frustrating!

Other than that, I reckon it's a great game although if I were still reviewing games, I would only give it a 9 or 9.5 out of ten. I reckon that the X360 still has a lot more to give than this game demonstrates, and the PS3 certainly has.

I've setup mine nicely and can now see everything fine... Simply put the contrast up to 8, and have the TV setup the same... i.e. Brightness - 50%, Contrast - 80% and Colour Saturation - 50%...

I've spent quite a while playing with my TV settings and the in game ones and found the above to be the best...

I have a Bravia and was initially using it on its 'Vivid' setting but found that changing to 'Standard' made things alot better and matching the 'Standard' TV settings in game made it very realistic...

Unfortunately you still can't see very well on my old TV even if you turn both brightnesses up to max!

Time for a new TV soon.

EDIT:

Played with the contrast, saturation etc. too, no joy

Old, cheap CRT in my case. Like I said, time for a new telly!
