FrogPad has announced a Bluetooth-enabled version of their one-handed portable keyboard, for use with Macs and other Bluetooth devices. The FrogPad works though a set of function-key combinations, and crams the full 101-key standard keyboard set into a twenty-key pad. FrogPad has plans to produce a wearable version for PDA-specific use after the first 1000 units have been sold.

FrogPad Bluetooth Now Taking Pre-Orders
After what seems like an especially long wait, FrogPad is finally taking pre-orders for its one-handed Bluetooth keyboard. It looks like they've dropped the green casing, too (or was it blue?) for a new white plastic that looks very nice, and much less like a child's learning toy. The FrogPad can be pre-ordered for $175 (retail is expected to be $225) and will ship "on or before June 30th."

The Gadgeteer has a review of the iFrog,FrogPad’s Bluetooth-enabled one-handed keyboard. You may be better off getting a proper folding model or just buying a PDA or a smartphone with a built-in keyboard but the reviewer says that the big reason to use one rather than a regular keyboard is that you can type with one hand (it comes in lefty and righty layout models, and use a mouse in the other. But after three weeks of hardcore usage (as the primary keyboard), the reviewer only managed to type 20 words per minute, way down from his usual 55 wpm using a regular keyboard. Battery life was an excellent two weeks of daily usage, but there is no battery level indicator and the iFrog itself is a whopping $225.
