Siemens SL45 to SL45i |

I just flashed my SL45 fimware from version 19 to version 52. It now has java and is exactly like SL45i. Anyone know any sites I can get java applications/games etc... for my "new" phone? Thanks in anticipation. |

I got it from someone I spoke to on club-siemens forum. He kindly gave me the links to the 2 sites where the firmware is freely available,(version 54 is out there too but didn't put java on my phone for some reason so 52 was safer bet), 1 for the version 52 firmware, the other for the "i" MMC content. It is actually 6688i firmware from what I can make out (6688 is SL45 for asia I believe). Everything works great, its fairly easy to flash using the standard cable/cradle supplied with the phone. If your friend is interested, I will email the links with advice on how to do it. My SL45 is over a year old so out of warranty, if your friends phone is less than a year old, then doing this upgrade will void his warranty!!!

How much does it cost to upgrade the SL45 to "i" I think it read in the mobile magazine that it will cost 50e is it true, I'm not sure because it has been time since I read that |

I believe it still costs about 50euros to upgrade sl45 to sl45i

No idea. To upgrade sl45 with latest firmware for that model is free under warranty, but the upgrade to i is not. Strange really.
