Currently Microsoft powered cell phones offer cameras with VGA resolution - 640x480 = 0.3 megapixel. Next generation - presented lately by Motorola - are Motorola MPx100 and MPx that have built-in cameras with 1.3 megapixel. Nobody expected Microsoft powered cell phones with more than 1.3 megapixel yet in year 2004! But here it comes that will be available yet in year 2004 and will cost only 599 Euro (730 US dollars). Here is more information about this phone:
it will be made in Austria (EU) by "Tel.Me." - a small cell phone vendor, that already previously was offering a cell phone with touch screen - the T919i, that was powered however by proprietary software of this vendor
Tel.Me. T939 will be powered by Microsoft Windows CE only - without Pocket PC or MS Smartphone layers
features of Tel.Me. T939 include (as listed by the vendor):
Instant Messaging
MS Office
Web Browser
SyncML
handwriting recognition
2.1 megapixel camera with such features as: Direct Print (technology that allows to print on printers without usage of the computer), built-in flash, video recording, optical autofocus, print editor, photo editor
TFT display with 256000 colors and resolution of 160x240 (QVGA) - input possible through touch screen or through the keypad
target marget: business customer

That's an upgrade fot T919 from 1,5 years ago. It has nice features but without being side-sighted i try to stay away from small cellphone produces cuz they have no global support and no advanced features.I might be wrong but we'll see the offer at the end of the year.

Tel.me T939
As part of the mad rush of press releases that is CeBIT, Tel.me of Austria released some details of their new smartphone, the T939. The T939 is based somewhat on their other smartphones that run a proprietary operating system, such as the T919 and T919i. The T939, on the other hand, is based on an unspecified version of Microsoft's Windows CE OS, a change in direction for Tel.me.

The biggest change worth noting in the new model is the new 2.1 megapixel digital camera that it has. The high resolution of the camera's sensor is not the only thing important, though. No, Tel.me claims that the T939 has an optical autofocus system. As in the lens moves. This is a big deal, as it means that the camera will, in theory, have the ability to set the focus based on where the subject is, not merely resorting to the fixed focus system used by today's cameraphones that produces such mediocre images. The T939 will even support direct printing to certain printers over IR. The entire package is rounded out with a built-in flash.

Other highlights include the 256k color TFT touch-screen display (at 160x240 pixel resolution), a handwriting recognition system, and the ability to play MP3 files. The T939 will also come with IM support, a web browser, SyncML, and MS Office support.

Tel.me says that the T939 should be available in stores in Asia and Africa in time for Christmas 2004 at a retail price of 599 Euros.
