Burn a CD with them on and re-import into iTunes as MP3.

Or you could try the program here which claims to remove the DRM from iTunes Music Store purchased files. Then you can just play them on the phone.

I've not tried it however.

Im a mac user and I just a T610 and Im having a few problems. First, the "company" contacts are all coming up with ".." or ".,." in front of them, and not having any of the company information. Second, a few of the names are in the "last name, first name" format, which I would like, but most of the others take the "firstname lastname" format, and I dont know how to fix that. Lastly, for my name, it moves my whole name to where my last name should be and a "-" where my first name should be. Any advice would be helpful.

The problem with the company name showing as ".." is a limitation of either the phone or iSync - not sure which. The only way around it is to put the company name into the First/Last name fields in Address Book.

Not so sure about your second problem. Seems as though some data has got mixed up somehow.

I would double-check all the problematic entries in Address Book, just to make sure they are entered correctly in there. Once you're sure everything is 100% ok, open iSync, choose "Back Up My Data" from the "Devices" menu, and then do a "Reset all devices..." to completely clear the phone and sync again.

Let us know if that helps.

Double checked the entries in the phone book and found that when I synced the phone the first time, it changed a lot of entries. Fixed those and they were in the right order. Next, to fix the company problem, I changed all of the companies to normal cards, and made the first name "company" and the second name whatever the company's name is. All is well now. Thanks. I'll post again if I have any problems or find any solution to a problem that is posted.

A very nice set of Mac OS X icons has been created by Alphan Gunaydin featuring the K700i, P900, S710a, T68i, T306, T616, T637, Z600

Get them here: http://www.ialphan.com/other/icons/sonyEricsson.zip

Problems with T68i and Bluetooth

I've had a T68i for about two years, and just recently purchased a K700i. The new phone is great, but I'm not thrilled with the included ringtones. I'd like to transfer a few of the ringtones from my T68i to my K700i via my Mac.

For some reason, Bluetooth File Exchange does not want to access my T68i. The phone is paired with the Mac, and I've successfully used iSync for the last two years. However, when I try to browse the phone's directories in BFE, it fails and says something like "The phone does not support this service." I also tried the demo of PhoneAgent; it tries to connect to the phone, but nothing ever happens. Bluetooth File Exchange works fine with my new K700i.

Does anyone have any trouble-shooting suggestions I could try?

Thanks!

PS: Most of the ringtone and theme sites I've seen seen to support download only via WAP. I'd rather browse for these files on my Mac and then transfer them to my phone; anyone know of any Mac-friendly theme/ringtone sites that will allow this? I'm particularly interested in business/professional themes.

Instead of using the Mac to browse your T68i and grab the files, why not use the phone and send them to the Mac?

I've never had a T68i but if it works the same way as a T610 or K700, just highlight the file you want to send on the phone, select More > Send > Via Bluetooth

Sadly, I don't think it works this way. AFAIK, the T68i does not have a file browser (unless I'm missing something obvious, which is entirely possible).

PS: Has anyone heard a successful report of someone updating the firmware in their K700i using a DSS-20/25 and a Mac with Virtual PC?

Thanks!

The T610 didn't have a file browser as such, but when you're in the screen that lets you set the ringtone to use, you could click More and then Send while the ringtone name was highlighted.

I've yet to try updating my K700 online, partly because O2 haven't yet released a firmware on the service, and also because the eBay bought DSS-20 isn't actually a DSS-20 and the seller won't now respond to my emails.

The update got as far as it could via Virtual PC but without the proper DSS-20/25 I couldn't progress any further.

Thanks for the info, Jools. I'll mess with my T68 a bit more and see if I can sort it out. Please keep us posted on your luck with the software update!

Not directly... You need to be using Windows to run the update. It should work with Virtual PC but I've yet to try it out completely because my network provider O2 haven't provided firmware for it yet. I started the update through Virtual PC running Windows XP SP2 and it worked fine up as far as it could...
