When can I upgrade the T68m to a T68i |

Theres a funny story to the T68i upgrade.
This does not concern the T68m>i upgrade, but only the SonyEricsson T68i models 
I got the upgrade from R2A-014 to R2B-025 (eZi-text system) for my T68i, just as a lot of others did, when it was put on the EMMA-server.
Then I was actually told, that this upgrade was not official, and the service points must not touch the T68i before week 24.
OUPPSS,...SonyEricsson seems to have "forgotten" to inform their service points on this subject 
And SE put the T68i upgrade on the server,..so the service points did not know, that they were not to use it.
The reason that they must not do the upgrade yet, is that SE is analyzing the T68i's untill week 24. All T68i's with problems are to be sent back and analyzed.
A lot of people already got the new software on their T68i models, hehe.
So I guess we have "illegal software" boys and girls

Jan, Could that mean that when you want to get your phone upgraded to the next official software release, all those that have got the software off EMMA may not be able too, as they have an "illegal software" installed on their phones?

No, I dont think so,..because the software I have, is the same the T68m will get,..its even called the same : R2B-025. And I dont really think it matters if one gets the upgrade in e.g. week 18 or 24
So there wont be any problems,..another thing is,..I didnt know that the phone and software was in the "test-phase",..neither did the service point
So no one can really be "punished" for this, hehe.

But what I see is that SE servicepoints don't know shit about SE.

What will happen if someone flashes the T68i software (for the T68i and not T68) on to a T68? Will that destroy the T68 phone? |

That is not possible, when you connect the T68m to the computer, the computer detects the typ of phone. This way it blocks the possibility to install other software then SE allows.

No, you wont destroy the phone, but an m wont accept the i software without an convertion application, and we hope this software is ready in Week 21

Raptor: Do you have a T68 upgraded to T68i (since you have a Lunar Grey T68) on your profile here, or the new T68i?
Just checked here in Norway, and the R2D005 software is the newest one for the T68. |

Hey all, I've got news for the upgrade. I sent the following email to SE:
Hello. I would like to know if the phone which appears on http://www.zellsoft.dkv.dk/admin/_navigation/graphics/Billedefolder1/B12.gif exists in reality.
I would also like to know if the long awaited software conversion of T68m to T68i will take place in countries where the T68i has not been released, such as my country which is Cyprus.
I would also like to know if the software upgrade will be free of charge, and also the date it will be available to the public.
This is the reply I got:

With regards to your other enquiry, the T68i upgrade for the T68 is still going through a testing phase and we will have no information concerning this upgrade until the T68i is released sometime during the 2nd quarter of this year.
Now, prove me wrong, but I think that the T68i is released in most countries in the world, and that he aint talking about Cyprus specifically. About the link, I did check more than 15 times and it works just fine (prove me wrong here as well).
What do you guys think? |

Checked two SPs here in Stockholm yesterday both say they "have heard that the upgrade will be availble at the end of May". Just a question now about when the end of May appears..
