Controling a TV with a T610 |

One of my brothers m8s recons that there is a site on the web that states how a T610 can be used to control a TV like an IR remote basically.
Is ther any truth in this cause I recon he's talkin out of his arse.

Here is the search results regarding using T610 as remote control for TV and in all those posts I'm sure its said that the IR is way too weak to be of any use although I have heard people mention IR extenders to solve that problem but I am not sure how successful that is.
best thing to do would be to get that person to tell you that site details, check it out yourself and report back here

Plus the fact that there is no way to control the IR from an application!!

on a nokia 7650 which my cousin has .....i linked it via infra red to the pc and sent a file (java application) which is originaly for a pda..it worked fine and the phone now can also be used as a remote control to control loads of stuff....eg tv,hifi,video,car stereo,dvd player,home cinema amp, there was everybrand in the book there :>... |

IR remote is available from the polish site http://www.psiloc.com/?id=down unfortunatly, i think it's only for the 76XX series, nokia comunicator ( largest addition to the bricklayers union) and the lovely UIQ PX00. better get on to them, my version of ir remote works up to 3.5metres or so. just within couch range works fine on my stereo,dvd and tv
