Alright guys, after using various screen overlays that they sell on the web for P900/P800, I have just one thing to say - THEY ALL SUCK ASS!! The screen turns blury after you stick one of those overlays on it, and sometimes if you don't do it right, you'd get bunch of bubbles in the overlay. Bottom line - it's crap! NOT ONLY THAT! They charge you out of your nose!! Come on! $10 - $15 bucks for a piece of thin film! WTF? Why don't they go rob the bank!?!

Anyways,

Here's an awesome solution, which will allow you to see the screen PERFECTLY CLEAR (no bubbles, no blury!!) and it's super cheap too (cost pennies):

(1) Get a VERY percise metric ruler (that measures centimeters)
(2) Get an overhead projector transparency slide
(3) Get an exacto-knife
(4) The percise dimensions for the overlay should be 6.4cm x 4.5cm exactly, so cut the transparency slide to these dimensions

Note that the overlay's "Height" is exactly the same as the screen's however, the "Width" is 2 milimeter larger than the screen's width. The reason for this is so that you can tug the overlay nicely in the little slit right between the screen and the phone casing. To apply the overlay, simply insert one of the sides into the slit first, then gently bend the overlay upwards into an arch shape, then insert the other side.

I made 10 of these in less than 10 min. I love them, and I think you will too!!

Give me some feedback and tell me how it goes!! Enjoy!

BTW, you can keep some extra overlays in the battery compartment!

Nice to see someone using their head, i also agree that screen protectors are one of the most overpriced PDA accessories on the market.
Reminder; milk, sugar, crisps, post letter.

Overpriced? How can you say that pachy? Who wouldn't pay the measily sum of £10 for a clear piece of left over plastic cut up with a craft knife by a small Vietnamese child working flat out and getting paid billyo? Its an absolute bargain I tell you, the brave businessman who has to set up the sweat shop and employ those money grabbing child workers has to put up with a lot and they are such good pillars of the community, wisely investing the money we provide them back into their communities for regeneration projects.
Boo sucks to this chap making his own, your helping to put thousands of innocent children out of work, your helping to deprive many poor fmailies of the penny and a button they earn each week. How can you sleep at night?

Are you suggesting that I am mentally imbalanced my lad? pachy you'll vouch for me, I'm the sanest person you will ever meet.

Don't listen to him, he doesn't know what he's talking baout. He is as batty as a cave that has just been awarded 'best destination for small flying animals 2004'.

Eh what?

Jolly good everyone, off to Mrs Miggin's Pie Shop now. Huzzah!

It was touch and go there for a second, but a swift biff to old fritzy and I was out. Scaled the wall, a quick wham to another fritzy and I made for the border. It was a close thing, the Bosch took a damned good licking, but I managed to make it back to Blighty. Huzzah!

Do we need protection for our phones? Why not just trust them and allow them to run wild and free?

Don't worry scotsboy has deprived himself of sleep and that can make people crazy I can tell yar. Hes perfectly fine, hes as sane as me....BAA...BAA.

With the acitate sheet that is a brilliant idea. I gonna try that tonight. However ain't it really thick the sheet compared to other screen protectors?

Looks nice, but isnt there a chance that it would fall of, its not exectly glued to the screen like the ones you buy.

I'd imagine as it is slited under the casing it will stay on very well.

@ scotsboy - Talking about protection for the p900/p800, maybe it should carry a knife around, or learn karate or something.

@ codename_47 - Did you get your name off hitman the game. Fantastic game. Favourite level is massachar at the cheng fish restaurant where you assinate the police chief.

What u could do, and this will give a better result... is remove the front cover and cut the acetate to the dimensions of the whole screen with cover removed. Pop the cover back on and everything will be held securely in place. [addsig]

It won't fall out, it'd get tug in to that little slit between the screen and the casing very nicely.

It's not too thick (We are talking about overhead transparency slides here,) In fact, it's perfect!! Try it!
