Wouldnt it be great if 2 or more in close by rooms can voice chat via T68x Bluetooth or headsets. some sort of an internal call not using the GSM network, could it be done? |

Sounds possible to me; by using a 3sd party bluetooth base station like airport (Apple)

Too late! I'm doing it first!
Yes, that would be great, especially when talking with friends when they are not too far from you, beats using up minutes.

Here u go, Ideas are poping up all over the place, LIKE THE SMS one yet I think the chat would work better, SMSs needs access to a service center number

Yes this can be done! Pair the phones in a scatternet & pair the headsets in a piconet! Voilà, on ericssons website, a tutorial had this with a base station that could take cell calls in progress & transfer them 2 ur landline phone!

Actually, there's a way to "chat" with bluetooth.
It's called bluejacking, and it's not illegal.
How to bluejack:
Create a new contact, and in the name-field, you write your message and then you save it. No need to write in the other fields! Click on send contact , send with bluetooth and then the phone searches for other devices. Choose the phone and send it, the message will appear on the screen on the other phone. The only necessary is that the other phone has its bluetooth switched on. |

erm...yeah...the sms idea is good...but there are easier and more practical ways of sending text messages to people...
Just write a note and send it via bluetooth, with somebody that you have added to your bluetooth places.

Along the same lines, when we are doing exams, all the students activate their bluetooth if we are allowed mobile phones in for that exam and then voila, send and receive answers like anything (using jotter or another application to send text with bluetooth). I know its not a good habit. |

This is quite stupid: Interhuman relations to be replaced by a 15 metters technology... Who on earth would choose a headset instead of live talking with someone not far away than at most15. However, text messages would be fun, cheating during test papers. :-)
