Well when i try to use the stylus on the screen, it does not register any 'touches' at all.
Basically if i touch the screen it doesn't work.
And it isn't on 'lock screen' either.
Frustrating !
The screen still looks as normal by the way.

Go to service menu and format the phone. Its only an idea,am not sure about this. Dont forget to make a backup of the phone memory before you do the format.

I have the came problem, stilllocked up after a week and you can't access all the menus. You can't even master reset it. Have you unlocked yours yet, if yes how.
Good luck. |

Press the battery icon in the bottom right corner with your stylus.

If the screen is locked as it is, pressing anything with the stylus will not be much use. The touch screen is locked mate! It's two cans and piece of string I'm afraid. |

Tried that, sort of stuck out here in no-mans land at present, can't get back home until early Feb. Never mind. Guess I'll go MOTO RAZOR next time, looks like a nice piece of work?
Are you from Bonnie Scotland by any chance?

That really sucks! I didn't know it was possible to lock the touchscreen - how did you manage that!
You sure you haven't dropped the phone? The connector that plugs into the PCB board for the screen may have come loose, and thus killed touchscreen capabilities, or perhaps the screen is at fault?
If there's a way to lock the touchscreen, there would be a way to unlock it as well!
I hope you enjoy Flip Closed mode, sounds like you've got to get used to it

How can I get into the phone and check the connector, could be the problem, you see I have dropped it a couple of times, well it is a bit chunky. The screws are tiny. If I dropped one I'd never find it again.
If I dabble about inside it, I suppose the warrantly will void?
Flip closed is about about as much use as a back pocket on a sock.
By the way who sticks the phone thingy on the left column of the posts, this phone here looks nothing like a P910i with a stuck touch screen!
By the way have you found that photos taken with the P910i it are pretty crap. I have, perhaps I've just got the last reject of the assembly line, luck y me!

I seriously would not recommend that you go poking around inside your Pxx0 if you're:
A) Not experienced with electrical goods
B) Not sure about how to take the phone apart
C) Gentle handed!
And yes, your warranty will be void if you go inside your Pxx0!
If you want to try it, however, read on..
NOTE: This method of opening has only been tested on a P900. It may differ slightly for other Pxx0 models. This is only written as a guide!
The screws in the Pxx0 are quite long, as they have to reach through to the front cover of the phone to hold them together, so don't worry too much about loosing them. They can be opened with almost any type of small phillips screwdriver, just make sure you don't chew them up trying to open it.
Step 1:
Take out the battery, SIM Card(!),and Memory Stick(!).
(!) = IMPORTANT - You can do serious damage to the handset if you forget to do this!
Step 2:
Making sure the flip is closed, place the phone face down on a soft surface, and working from the bottom left of the phone, using a blunt object, gently prize the phone apart, working from the bottom to the top. Repeat on the other side, until all four clips come undone, and the phone case begins to come apart. Turn the phone back over, and **Gently** pull the front of the phone cover off.
Be very careful from this point onwards, as the ribbon cable leading from the phone to the PCB board is very fragile, and easily torn!
Holding on to the screen, turn the phone into it's side, so the screens ribbon cable is facing the surface. Then gently pull the screen away from the phone, and place it down on the surface. You will notice a large silver coloured cover over the components, and two screws near the middle of it. Being very careful with the screen, gently unscrew these, and remove the silver panel.
**Once again, be very careful here! There's major risks of ruining your Pxx0!**
Now you have unscrewed the main PCB from the phone case, you can gently place the screen back on top of it. Keep an eye on this.
Step 3:
Being VERY gentle, and with the bottom of the phone facing you, gently unclip the two clips holding the PCB down on the RIGHT side of the phone first of all.
Once you've done that, repeat this on the left hand side of the phone (This is a much more delicate side to do, as just above the middle, on the left hand side of the PCB, the jogwheel ribbon cable connects to the board underneath. If you pull the board up too much you run the risk of tearing the ribbon cable! I did this the very first time out of carelessness, be warned).
Once you've unclipped the PCB completely from the case, lift it up slightly from the BOTTOM of the phone. Be VERY careful here, do not lift it up too much, just enough to see underneath the PCB, keeping an eye on the screen, so it doesn't place too much strain on its ribbon cable, otherwise you run the risk of tearing the jogwheel cable. (I seriously can't warn you enough about this!)
Get a good light source and take a look underneath the PCB, you will notice the ribbon cable for the screen connecting underneath the phone. Use something with a large flat surface to press against it and add pressure, to ensure continuity with the PCB board.
After you've done this, you can clip the PCB back into the case.
Step 4:
Making sure it's all clipped back into place, return the silver plate underneath the screen being very careful once again. Replace the two silver screws in that to secure it.
Then you can place the front cover back onto the phone (I recommend you give the screen a good wipe before you do this, as it gets rid of the dirt that accumilates in the edges of the screen).
Turn the phone over, and replace the four screws, and the screw covers.
Re-insert the Memory Stick, SIM card, Battery, and test the touchscreen.
If it still does not work after this, then it must mean that the screen is broken.
I hope you found this helpful, if you need anything explaining further, do not hesitate to contact me.
Good luck!

Well that sure was some explanation and I have as much knowledge with electronics as I have with artificial insemination so I'll give it a miss unless I get really bored or if I get the Moto Razor instead
It sounds far too complicated to me, but I thank you anyway for taking the time to write all that stuff down. Must have taken ages....
If I tried those three steps I would end up with a migrane and a pile of very small broken bits and PCB's what ever they are. A very complicated procedure worthy of brain surgery methinks.
All the best.
