01-08-04: Latest P900 Firmware - Unofficial Release Notes |

The latest P900 firmware organiser release has now been made available online to a wider range of supported 'sim-free' phones. SE has still not published any release notes. I have pasted a pic from my P900 as to what your system information should read. If you proceed through the upgrade and don't have the information listed below then your upgrade has failed. Please posts any noticeable changes to your P900. This might help us draft an 'unofficial' release note which SE has failed to publish to the public. Keep in mind that any personal changes you may have noticed may not have been due to the implementation of this latest firmware revision. Moreover, this upgrade may not have technically implemented any new features, but rather just tweaked the bugs that most have seen.
- Phone restart issue has been remedied for some
- HBH-200 issues has NOT been rectified

Installing applications (via syncstation at least) looks somehow faster now. Did anyone else noticed this or is just an impression ? |

I'm not sure because the newer sync software did speed things up.

Is anyone having the same problem as me since the upgrade?
I can sync, I can backup & restore, but I cant connect via the My P900 program.. it says it's not connected even though I can sync & backup..
And my dongle cant do a connect with the serial port either, anymore, it also worked before...
Or am I missing something as usual?!

Hi Friends,
Last night I have updated my phone with the latest firmware available at SE site. I can’t see any recognizable differences comparing with my previous version. I believe clock’s digits are a bit bigger.
Happy hunting

May I take this opportunity to be a complete moron and show my ineptitude!! How do you get the firmware details screen. I have checked for previous threads (on pain of death) and checked my orange manual to no avail. I want to see what versions I'm running just now to decide what upgrades i need.

@Monken
that doesn't work for me though... switched around a couple of times now... I can still "synch" but not open the "disks" on the phone...
I have emailed support so hopefully they'll have an answer for me...

spartacus - In the applications list in Flip Open mode, select "System Information" in the "Edit" menu, then use the left and right arrows to view the information. |

@ Spart - The website actually illustrates how one goes about checking the firmware revision as well.. It's a link in that "get started" page.

...compared to the R2B02 Release (and previous), the current R3A06 release (on my P900 162003/2) is definately "better":
As mentioned above: Sync and Data-Transfer is faster AND the "Sudden Reboot during installation" issue definately is solved.
No (new) functions detected so far, however: Better stability + Speed
I'm glad to have it on my P900

So the only sure conclusion I can come about for this firmware revision thus far is that it is necessary. It would be nice if SE offered a firmware beta program.
