That's cheap compared to the Vertu line of Nokia, or the limited edition solid-gold with diamonds T68m.. the Vertu line of Nokia starts of at US$24,000 and the diamond encrusted T68m went for US$35,000 if I remember right.

If i remember well also, what could explain the Vertu's high price tag was the secretary service called "concierge" (not sure). It's like having a personal assistant all the time, just call and ask et voila!

The Vertu is truely aimed to high revenues people that have a high living standard (otherwise why bother the personnal assistant?)

Other than that and the choice of precious metal casings the phone is just your "basic" tri-band phone. Nothing else...

moto seems to like banding their phones with other companies.. like the limited edition harley davidson v60

they cant sell phones otherwise cuz everyone knows they r CRAP
the vertu line is by far the most expensive/best
the t68m diamond, I remember it being 3000$

The Moto Aston Martin Phone also features the grunting sound of a full throttle Aston Martin engine as a ringtone !!!

Regarding Vertu .....i came accross it in Selfridges London and had a little play around with one.....the sales guys as usual were pricks who knew nothing technical about the phone. I asked what the resolution of the screen was and how many colours it supports but they didn't know....i was suprised that they were selling such expensive phones without the knowledge of the technical aspects. When he saw my P900 he nearly fainted!! Both sales guys were WELL IMPRESSED with its features!!!

After playing around with it i asked him why the phones are so expensive when they have just the basic functions of a mobile phone and not even an infrared port let alone bluetoooth support he said " our phones are handmade in England like Bentley cars" We use software from Nokia but are an independent company based in the UK!!!

I swear he never even told me that its platinum plated. The phone would not be CHANGED to a newer model but purely upgraded in terms of a firmware/software update like our lovely phones and i reconfirmed that ! unless the sales gerks never even knew that
