Hi,

Does anyone know if third party software (games/applications) for the nokia 7650 can be installed and run on a p800/900?

Cheers,

no, although both run on symbian OS the OS is different. nokia 3650/7650 run on Series 60 and p8/900 run on UIQ. thus making the software incompatable with each other.

By the way, Welcome to Esato!

Aha, thanks for that. Ive never owned a p800/900 but I'm happy to say will have one tomorrow on Orange! Do you have any tips for first use, like does it really need to be charged for however many hours (can I meddle with it plugged in) before first use.

Are there any pitfalls to avoid? I hear there's a firmware upgrade out already, should I go ahead and update the handset?

Cheers,

which one are you getting, p800 or p900? my best advice is to keep it on charge for as long as possible even after is says battery full. They normally recommend charging intially for something like 16hrs. Normally i ignore what they say when i get a phone and did so with my p8. but i did notice an unusual decrease in the battery for the first few weeks. it could have been something to do with that.

Regarding the firmware upgrade . . . . p800 or p900?? !!
