My day old P900 has died on me (I plugged in the mains adapter and the screen just went blank). Now when it restarts it doesn't get past the welcome screen (it's stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo screen). I tried holding the power button for 10 seconds but horizontal lines appears corrupting the screen and it didn't switch off. Taking the battery out for a couple of mins also didn't fix anything.

Is it well and truly dead? And on the night before Christmas too

Cheers,

David.

Ah, I forgot to mention I'm a Mac OS X user so the cradle/PC connection doesn't work for me! If you had a link to something that might help though I'd be grateful as I'm visiting my PC using brother in a couple of days.

Cheers,

David.

Yep, I called them, 'take it back to the shop' was their advice! I thought you guys would be my last chance at rescuing the phone before Christmas but it looks like I got my turkey early!

Heard somewhere that you should remove the sim card and there is a possibility that you will get a message about SIM error; at this point you can access the service menu and you can try to reformat the c: drive to see if that will revive you P900.
