Well after numerous goes.. I finally got mine to download the full 100%.
Once the download is complete, the flash goes without a hitch. Restore works perfectly as well.
I think the biggest problem is that SonyEricsson servers are being hammered for people clammering for the update.. hence why timeouts are occuring. The actual software itself works very well
Oh and the T9 fix, thank you!
Good job SE!

@Serge
I cracked it!
Turn the phone off, THEN put it in the cradle, so that the red charging light come on. Then run the update.
@all
Apparently I have the latest version already - My CDA code is CDA162004/3 Organiser: R1C01
Is this normal?

Hi Guys, I'm on Orange and the whole process goes through 100%, part from the fact that whether I do a Manual or Automatic update the Process buts in and says my phone is already up-to-date, but it's not I'm on the origunal Firmware!
Anyone else had the same problem?

Just completed my upgrade !!! after 2 failed attempts though...
My P900 is now...
Phone : R3C006
PDA : R2B02
Bt : R5D
CDA : R2A10
The improvements according to the site are...
1. Improved sound quality in Office handsfree mode.
2. Updated Java support MIDP2 - MIDlet signed against Verisign certificate.
3. Improved capitalization in T9, now capitalizing characters properly.
4. Enhanced handling of accessories, Bluetooth headset, HBH-200, displays name and phone number of incoming caller.
5. The Clock screen saver digits has been enlarged for better visualization.
6. Find function in e-mail application has been improved.
No more going to service centres for Fw upgrades...
Cheers to

Are Orange users having problems?
I just had a phone call from a mate saying that his P900 is claiming full version but it's older than mine that I just updated to.

@turbominor
It does then give me the option to continue and install the update anyway.
Just wondering if it will make a difference?

Hmm.... Looks like it's something to do with.....
CDA: CDA162004/3 R2B01
It asks at the beginning of the update what our CDA version is, even notice that the original poster of this thread states an earlier version. The update asks for this CDA version and then determines whether you need to update from this... Don't know whether I should uninstall and tell the update that I have this earlier version CDA: R2A10, to get the Phone and Organiser versions updated.... Think I'll let some other brave person risk it 1st.... Or maybe, just maybe I'll risk it!
@TooMuch2AM
Makes No difference, I carried on and went through the whole process, completed fine and set my phone back to it's basics, even asking to re confirm time and date. Totally set it back to as it was when it was purchased from Orange. Did my restore and had exactly the same phone I had an hour ago before I did the update.

OK all you Orange users, I've had 4 large Wisky's and a few beers (and can still type) so I'm going for it, just uninstalled the update servcei and I'm gonna b*llsh*t the CDA question and tell it I've got CDA: R2A10, at the end o the day it's only a phone, it's a company phone and the update does offer a recovery option. Whats the worse that could happen, I end up with a £350 pile of electronic jung and if it comes down to that I'm off to my local service centre tomorrow to plead ignorence.
PS, do need a full CDA R2A10 ****** number off one of you guys first to attempt it, So please post ASAP so that I can take the plunge for the rest of you.
This is gonna be fun!

Still no luck... it keeps saying that the phone's not switched off or battery not charged...
Here are the steps I'm taking.
Switch phone off.
Put it in cradle.
Wait for the red light to turn green.
Start the update application.
Application says that my phone's not switched off or battery not charged...
Cradle is in USB port. Not in hub (not that that should matter but you never know) |

For those having problems with "undefined error", if you have antivirus software running, trying disabling it before running the firmware upate. |
