I was having a conversation with a guy at work about it today, one of use was saying it was their fault for not securing their phone, on the other side of the coin, it was an invasion of privacy... |

In russia no. But 99.99% of russian users with bluetooth phones don't know how to use it... So its fast impossible to bluejack - everything is just turned off! => no connect - no bluejack.

Well buddy looks we still haven't got our little discussion sorted out solaris. My point was that the person reported you to the police would you get into trouble for it. We'll hopefully have a decent reply before work tomoro.

I guess you've understood it by now but anyway. They are just joking, bluetooth certainly isn't illegal, if you do not post any disturbing messages. Between, Pachy is the "funny guy" round here.

"Funny guy" is that official, ...
but yes, ANY insulting or offensive messages whether in emails, sms, mms or BT is possibly liable but i'm not sure it could be illegal.

Maybe smwhere it will be illegal, but checking, what a man has done with his own phone is more illegal!

anyway... B2T: solaris.... the use of to connect to another phone in itself is not illegal (except of course in Pachy's Paraguay)
HOWEVER: if you then use your established connection to send messages with illegal content (think.... death threats, bomb alerts, 'stalker' like suggestions... or robbery...... 'I have a gun pointed at you...... you know I am less than 10 m away... drop the wallet or else I put a hole in you'.....) now THAT would be illegal.

The problem with all this chat about legal/illegal bluetooth activity is that if it came to court how could you prove guilt?
How can you possibly identify the sending (and therefore guilty) party?
