i know you can delete all your cookies to delete all new posts since your last visit, but is there a way of doing this but not deleting all your cookies. e.g. if i want to keep my username on a different site in a cookie.

is there a file in the cookies folder you can delete to acomplish this?

thanx

on winXP, theres a folder in your documents and settings:
c:\Documents and Settings\User\Cookies

theres a file in there with esato in the name, if you delete that it should reset the count

any other windows, i presume its in c:\windows\cookies

the cookie will continue to be created if you browse esato

an alternative is to search your hard drive for the word esato, and delete any cookies that appear

I get two cookies for esato. One is myname@www.esato and the other is myname@mobile.esato. Deleting either of these causes my new posts count to be reset when I visit Esato via www or mobile

These cookies are created each time you go to esato or mobile esato but to stop your name being stored in them you can "edit your preferences" and set the "Store my username in a cookie for 1 year.:" to no and save the changes.

i've searched for all folders and files that contain the word cookie and have deleted all the cookies called esato in all of them (this was only n one folder all the others it had index.dat) looks like i'll just have to click delete all cookies to get rid of new posts i'll try what mixen said and see if there are any esato cookies i've missed.

edit: @mass, i've deleted them 2, i also have deleted myname@www.esato[2] and others like it, but it didn't work

thanx anyway .

If you are having trouble finding your cookies, all you have to do is go to the "Internet Options" in the Control Panel. On the "General" tab under "Temporary Internet Files" click on "settings", and then "View files". You will be taken straight to the folder, so that you can toss any cookies you want
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

is there anyway you can edit the text to make it say your last visit was at least 20 mins before so esato will automaticly delete them?

thanx

edit: @uni, which one worked?

edit 2: @wrath000, that worked thanx wrath , it took a while to find esato as i was looking for a cookie with a text symbol and not a html, so i used the search and, bingo! thanx again
