I have exact same prob. Been using service fine for 6 months. It just stopped However, in the interim I did get the firmware updated to R2F - don't know if this might be a cause ? Regret cannot help and have tried all T-Mob and SE myself. I suspect T-Mob have switched off the service to force us onto this daft Instant Email service which is subscription and basically only SMS really. If you do find the solution I would appreciate your post |

U guys actually T-Mob UK suscribers? Just asking as the T-email service is no longer available to those who aren't. The T-Email service has also been upgraded (and I think) some customers , including myself, needed to re-register. I've done this and now its working better than ever.
Cheers,

Hi Mrs H, Yep T-mob subs. Now myrealbox has stopped working too. I also registered with T-mob t-email service, per SE advice. Still doesn't work. Spent perhaps 1 hr today trying to get sense out of T-mob. Totally hopeless. But they are going to get back to me. Let's see. Usually there is a simple answer to these things. Watch this space |

Odd... I've just sent a test email and all works ok. If you send an email to your account do you get the sms notification? If so can you then download the email?
My connection details are as follows;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Basic
Connection type = POP3
Internet account = T-Mobile GPRS
Inbox
Incoming server address = pop3.t-email.co.uk
outbox
Outgoing server address = smtp.t-email.co.uk
Use SMTP authentication = checked
Use inbox Login details = checked
advanced
Sucure Connection = unchecked
Outgoing mailport = 25
Use MIME encoding = checked
Incoming mail port = 110
Secure Password authentication = unchecked
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing to make sure is that the Outgoing server address isn't smtp.t-mail.co.uk.
All the best,
Mrs H

Mrs H, I think you are subscribed to the full instant email service while I only have a gprs usage sub which worked ok till recently, I never received sms notification for new emails, just hit send and receive and they are downloaded to the phone. But even with the smtp server set to smtp.myrealbox.lcom still doesnt work, after speaking to tmob again and checking the se website it seems as if the way to send and receive emails is via dial-up rather than gprs, that seems to be the way the se configurator sets it up |

Listen to MrsH kids, she is right. best thing to do is quick to GPRS, delete your exsisting account in your phone only and then put the settings in again as per MrsH's feedback. should you probs persist, mail me at lovewalrus@aol.com and i'll see what i can do-put subject as t-email please.

the problem is not our settings, tmob has disabled smtp access to their own and other servers so there is no way to send email |

I'm not subscribed to the Instant E-mail, I've just selected to receive sms notifications when I get new mail on my t-email account. I've no probs with sending/receiving over GPRS, I don't think t-mob have disabled smtp access at all. |

Mrs H, I am not using a t-email account, I am using a blueyonder account but to send mail i have to use tmob smtp server as i am on their network. This was working ok till last week, even with myrealbox till 2 days ago, so the change has been on tmob's side |

Emal service now working exactly as wanted. I am sending via T-Mob (as you have to) and receiving through my pop3 account with UK2.net. Myrealbox still not working.
Mrs H is right - put in her settings.
My error (see my post 2/12) was not to have checked the smtp authentication box..
However, for it to work you do need to register with T-Mob's site at www.t-email.co.uk. This is the authentication bit. The password and user name resulting from this registration go in the boxes under the authentication check box. Per TMob, you do not pay for this - they are just identifying who you are to stop spammers.
I have no idea why myrealbox stopped - but maybe T-Mob is aware that people were getting round their new regime and have closed that door now. However, provided I don't get a £10 charge on my next bill, that's fine with me. I have no prob with them making things more secure, but I would if they changed ther terms of my service with them. We'll see. |
