Im having a total mare using xnview to convert .mbm files - when I go to save them the only options I can choose are grey scale ones, no colour options - so the images turn out grey . What am I doing wrong ? Anyone use that proggy for mbm files ?

@badrat

yeah, i had that problem recently as well.

I don't know what's the matter though, but it might be that the image format is originally made for greyscale PDA's

Does any of you know about MBM Converter? It comes with the Symbian SDK (CMIIW).

I need any MBM creator/generator/converter. Any helps are much appreciated.

TIA.

Just to say that the Christmas Theme has really impressed me... and that it will probably grace my screen for the whole of the festive period... well done !

@peanut

Sorry I have no idea were to find one.

Can anyone extract the program that makes mbm files from the Symbian development package? Ore is there any easy way of making mbm files? I know I've asked this before but we have to solve this problem.

Take a look at the T610 owners, they are spitting out new and very nice themes every day. And we P900 owners have about 10 in total!!!We can not be beaten by T610 owners.

May the force be with a new and great mbm file maker

Why are people having trouble with bmconv.exe?

Just google for the file and download it.

Next you need to know how many frames (pics) an MBM contains. You can find this on:

http://my-symbian.com/uiq/faq/showquestion.php?fldAuto=7&faq=2

Use something like this to extract the bitmaps:
bmconv.exe /u file.mbm outputbitmap-1.bmp outputbitmap-2.bmp

..and a similar command to combine them back to an MBM file (don't forget to specify the color depth! just place "/c24") such as:

bmconv.exe /u file.mbm /c24inputbitmap-1.bmp /c24inputbitmap-2.bmp

Note that I could be slightly off on the synax (I can't check at the moment).

For the Linux people: it's works perfectly under wine.

Sorry mate, but to me thats not so simple. Theres got to be a better way. I mean if now SE planned to put the function of Themes in the P900, which they have done in other phones. It must be a more simple way of makeing the mbm files.

Thanks anyway mate
