I ran a back up of my P800 before upgrading the software. When I restored it, the contacts were no where to be found!

Is it possible to restore my contacts? Help

Thanks in advance

open the back up file with winzip
(C:\Documents And Settings\ur username\Application Data\Sony Ericsson\back-up\)
and get contacts.cdb out
use the filemanager (for pc, get it from my-symbian) and copy it into the right directory
(System\Data) I believe

I opened the backup files using winrar and it worked for me. Atleast to browse the backup files. Haven't tried to extract anything or add anything for that matter. Mostly because I don't need to... yet.

Make a copy of the backup file and rename the copy to *.zip. You will be able to open the file then.

@juicy
The back file is an .ecs file and it can be opened by WinZip, there is no need to change the extension, just right click and open with winzip.Hope this helps
