first off, i am in the us and rarely go overseas. do i want the 610, 616, or 618?

second, what are the differences between a manufacture SE phone like from expansys and a tmobile branded one? besides teh fact that tmobile is obviously locked to its sims. if i were to get a tmobile phone unlocked, would it be IDENTICAL to a normal one? the guy at the tmobile stand said that the tmobile phones only allow you to gprs with the tmobile account, which means if i use a different sim i wont be able to use that sim's gprs?

thx

T610: 900MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz
T616: 850MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz
T618: 900MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz

T618 is for the Asian market... and T610 is only single band (1900MHz) in US while T616 is dual band (850/1900) where 850MHz is available. Branded phones often contain items that the provider has put into the phone, else there is no difference.

The T-Mobile brand doesn't really have anything disabled, but it has some annoying modifications.

1. They took the GPRS indicator bar out. I have NO idea why they did that. It took me a long time to figure that one out.

2. You can't really set any of the data settings manually, as it's all configured for you under "T-Zones." On top of that, you can't edit or even look at the settings.

Aside from those two main things, I can't really think of anything else that you wouldn't think of, like T-Mobile pictures, screensavers, and ringtone.

Even if you do get it, just unlock it and flash it with a generic firmware for $40-$50 and you're still a good $200 ahead.
