I have used my voice memo to record phone conversation. But after 1 months (i installed a few applications), it won't work anymore. It still can record a memo but it won't work if I would like to record phone conversation (as long as the phone is on the line). It always shows an information message :
"Recording has stop. Try recording again."

I have do master reset to make it into original state, but it still can't record phone conversation.

Can anyone help me....?

Thanks.

Very interesting!!!

As far as most of us know, the P800 CANNOT record phone conversations.

The only thing I can think of was that there was a bug in the software of your phone that allowed you to do this (when officially, this is not a feature of the phone e.g. check the User Guide).

I would be interested to know the following.

- The firmware version (phone, pda, CDA) of your phone

- The language of your phone (i.e. are you using the phone in a non English speaking market)

- What software you installed on the phone and....

- in what sequence.

Just a general point, you should always do a backup after installing a new application on your phone. This way if any thing goes wrong you can "roll the clock back" to what it was like before.

Especially important is to have a backup of the phone as it comes out of the box (i.e. in a virgin state; with no settings altered or software installed)

Thanks for the information.

my firmware is :
SE Mobile Communications 2002
Symbian Ltd 2002
UIQ Technology 2002
Phone CXC162002 R2F
Bluetooth CXC12529 R5A
Organiser CXC162001 R2B03
CDA CDA162001 R4A02

The language is set to UK English and there is no other language available.

I have installed a few program like:
Booster
SciCalc
QuickTimer
Conversions
Advanced English Dictionary
Phrases_EnglGerm

I don't remember the sequence, but as far as I know it is like the step above.

Sincerely Yours

Well, I have to say I am lost as to what to say.

Your firmware setup is identical to mine and I have never been able to record phone conversations (but then again I never tried coz it didnt indicate that it could do so in the manual and like you, within a few weeks - a few days in fact - I started to install software on it).

I am not sure but I think I saw that you also asked this question on My-Symbian?

If so maybe someone there can shed some light on this if no one here on Esato can.

I reckon you have stumbled onto something new. If so then maybe some clever guy can make a patch that will allow us all to record phone conversations even after we have installed third party software on our phones.

I have a virgin backup file I can send to you. You may want to use it to turn your phone back and see if the phone recording trick still works.

If you PM me with your email address I will send it to you.

Hi there, I have to ask something regarding voice memo (probably it's already in other threat). Can I setup voice memo so it can record directly to memory stick ?

Firstly, you should have started your own thread to ask your question instead of hijacking someone else's.

Second, given that you have an idea that your question may have already been asked, you should have used the Search facility on this site.

And finally, no you can't do as you ask. The Voice Memos will only record onto the internal storage space.
