ok
as u all know, my P800 is still in the hands of SE
but I need my precious contacts
so I took my friend's P800
I backed-up his phone
imported my restore file
and began the restore procedure
during the restore, the program kept telling me "Device is full"
and it wld ask me to skip some files
and it wld copy the rest
once done, I went into the contacts, only to find HIS contacts r still there
how come it didnt overwrite them?
was I supposed to do a master reset?

I figured it out
I extracted the contacts.cdb file by openning the backup file with winzip
a very nice person helped me out @ my-symbian
