So am i right in thinking this error message is because my MMS message is over 50kb in size?

I have tried to send the message by all types of connection (i managed to send an MMS through the dial-up WAP the other day - finally a use for WAP )

BTW, i'm on Orange UK with P800 - is there a fix for this with the R2D02 Firmware, or is it a limitation by Orange UK?

First thing to check is with your Network provider, is your Sim MMS enabled. My work sim isnt and i get the 94% error! with my own sim in my phone which is mms enabled, i can send MMS.....

Easy check!

I had this problem until i downloaded the GPRS settings for MMS from the SE site.
I could receive fine but at 94% of sending it would fail reporting 'unknown error'

A couple of things to check.

1) Make sure you got your networks MMS setting on your phone.
2) Make sure your SIM or Account with your service provider is MMS enabled.
3) Some network operator don't allow you to send MMS to other networks so try to send to a e-mail to test or to someone on your same network first.

Hope it helps
Yusuf.

Thanks for the advice everyone - i called Orange and they said that MMS was already enabled on my sim. They reckon the MMS service is "down in my postcode area" since tuesday night.

Then i told her that i had no luck in another place way over the other side of town, so she sent me my MMS settings again.

Haven't had a chance to try it again, but i'll let you know if it works. Thanks again!

The most common fault with mms if your settings are correct is network failure.

I have been sending at least 100 mms coz we did have it for free until a mounth ago. I had perfect settings but it did happen quite often that it stopped at 94%. After many attempts it worked in the end. In your case maybe it can depend on some limits of size you can send. Comviq in Sweden can not guarantee if itīs bigger then 30kb.

hello,

i struggled with this frustration for a while and i found initially that if i turned the phone off and back on that sometimes helped.

When i became a little wiser i realised the real issue to stop it.

It is the size of the photo you send i soon realised that everytime i tried to send a picture that was 640x480 it wouldnt send yet if i took the picture in 320x240 it sent everytime.

It happens everytime you send the big pics

hope that helps

I had this; and indeed still have it.

Vodafone restrict the size of an MMS you can send, to about 30K I think. Anything larger than that and it fails at 94% (always that number for some reason). Sounds like Orange may have the same thing.

Try it with smaller pictures attached, or no pictures, to get the size below that, and see if it works then.

There's nothing more to do after that than pester Orange to increase the limit.

I started a thread with that same issue. In my case I couldn't get it pass T-Mo's server and it did hang at 94% each time. I had to reset my settings several times to get success. Once I got the first one to go through I was able to get the same file attachments that were failing at 94% to complete. So it had me wondering wether it was really a file size restriction by the service providor or if it was a hicup with how the settings were configured in my phone. Hope that helps.

@kitp800

Where did you find the settings info? I just looked on SE's site and could find anything.

I too have the same problem. I'm trying to get MMS going on Cingular who have just introduced this service (about time too).

I used to face the problem of MMS sending failing at 94%. None of the service providers can provide me with an answer as to why this happened, because they say that the MMS is enabled on my SIM. MMS works fine on my 7650. But I recently got my phone flashed with R2F. Now MMS works fine on my P800. So I think in my case it is the firm ware problem.

This is a network or service provider problem. The connection halts at 94% since the phone does not receive a successful sent receipt from the network.

you have to check with you network provider. I used to encounter this problem and they had to manually reconfigure my MMS connection. The "automatic" network setup they send you to install on your phone might not be enough.
