Changing cases - virtual flip color? |

I have sent in my phone to get the case changed to mineral grey...
however I like to use my phone w/o the flip, so won't the virtual flip remain blue? How do I change the color of the virtual flip from blue to grey?
thanks |

Although someone here suggests they saw a grey virtual flip which would have to be done as a setting somewhere but as the global support site is not working right at the mo I can't download the latest manual to check... will do later...

It thing they are confussing between flip and virtual flip...
That last one will always be blue like the blue line with shortcut upside. It 's a part of the UIQ, it's to say the rom. And to change that you will allreday need "some" very good knowlegde of UIQ and programming... and guts to do it ! |

although virtual flip capability is part of uiq the actual design of the virtual flip in terms of look and colour is an customised feature so they must also be able to provide a setting to change the colour (if they can be bothered!)

thing is, more than likely the virtual flip will be an image file... so the actual images will need to be changed to change the colour..

yes, you are right of course, but it would still require a setting to change it... although I guess its unlikely that would inlcude this because they would not be expecting people to change the colour
I wonder if someone has found this image file and photoshopped it to grey, or if indeed the grey phone when it comes from factory that colour, has a grey flip image that could be copied somewhere for people to use of they do the colour change aftermarket

Has any one ever seen a grey p800 in the flesh (not one that has been converted)?

you cannot change the color of the virtual flip because the image file resides inside the ROM, you can view it and copy it to extract it, it is in a .mbm form so you must use an application to convert it to a bitmap form, them once you have edited it you can change it back to the .mbm form, but you cannot place it back into the ROM, ive tried this before, the only way to do it is have the file inside the firmware and flash your P800, which will will take a lot of work and a lot of tools.

Did anyone have a look at Psiloc's Color Schemes???
You can set about any color in the system with this proggie.
So the argument that it's a picture that has to be edited isn't valid because this goes for several other parts of the system that can be coloured. |

@zhubajie
If you did ever use this program (and I assume you did) you would notice that while some of the colours did change, the virtual flip remained exactly as it was, just like the top and bottom of the screen in flip open mode.
These parts DO require some hardcore editing as it is built-into the OS, and isn't a user-customisable file. |
