Has anybody else experienced loud beeps while holding conversation on T610? Sometimes it sounds like a harmonic distortion 0.5-1.5 seconds lenght. Last time I heard it, it was a clear beep, aprox 1 second in length. It was only on my side of the conversation, the other person did not hear it. It was not the sound recorder. I wasn't pressing any buttons. This has happened several times now, sometimes during conversation, sometimes when the phone is dialing.
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

sounds a bit like the minute minder but I doubt it is that.

I certainly haven't heard anything like that on my T610s

It's not the minute reminder. I have checked everything, nothing should be beeping. The reason I bring it up is because it's rather loud. Allmost painfully loud.

ok, well the only other beep I can recall is when I am long distance internation, like to Australia, and that beep is network generated but not that loud.

Sounds like you may have a problem then.

Just had a thought... did it start since you upgraded the firmware?

hmmm... well unless there is a new option in there (I didn't get mine done yet) that says beep loudly and at irregular intervals I guess, as you probably already suspect, it may need to be looked at be

This is why I keep 2 phones (currently T610s) and never upgrade them at the same time. I just cannot do without a phone if one needs to be sent away.

let us know how you go wrath000

I am gonna wait a while, see how annoying the problem is. I probably will send the phone away, it's just a question of ...when...

..never know, perhaps the next firmware fixes it, though I am not sure I am willing to wait that long...

No, it's not callwaiting either. Most often, this beep sounds distorted like metal nails against the blackboard, if you know what I mean...

@judge
That could very well be. I figure it's either the mic or the speaker, actually a bit more inclined to believe it's the speaker, since sometimes it happens during the dial phase. Could be the firmware as well though...

To make sure check under the service menu by activating the mic-earpiece loop. You won't believe what happens on a T310 when doing that. If it's because of the firmware, then I assume they set the mic-earpiece balance/volume incorrectly.

This never happened before your upgrade then???

(in that case... would it be worth reflashing it?)
