Hello together,

I have talked with MpTelecom, and they told that they will get the device January or Ferbruary and it IS possible to take the software from the P900 and flash it to the P800. They'll do it, when they get the device.

So there is no need to buy a P900. One thing is very different the Display it has more colors then the P800 , but I can live with 4096 Colors. It is enough

Haha, I am sure it will.

I will start!
I really don't see how a firmware designed to work with 65000k could possibly work with 4096 colors, since it's a completely different addressing system! (16 bit as opposed to 12bit)

Colour depth shouldn't be a massive issue.

The Sony Clié implementation of PalmOS had the option of using from 2 to 65k colours on the same device.

But flashing a P800? I'll believe it when I see it.

Does anyone know for fact that the P800 addressing system is 12bit?? I thought it was just an assumption based on the current TFT in the P800. I remember the old Atari Lynx had a 4096 colour screen, but it had a 16bit processor!

MpTelecom is a Partner of SonyEricsson. They were the first shop in Germany, who got the P800. They said on the phone, that there is no difference bitween the P800 and P900, just the Display, the hardware is the same.

We talked about the BluetoothCar and the new Flashlight. The Bluetooth car is very small, like the half of our P800. And it has not so much power, you can driver for 5 minutes not more. The Flashlight is compatible with P800, you have to turn it on, and then take a photo.

Addressing system is not 12 bit. The screen will only accept 12 bit since the screen is 4096 colors. If that's the case, there will be trouble when firmware starts trying to feed 16bit colors into 12bit variables

I have no idea so dont flame me here but.....

this is really stupid but give me a little break....

big breath in big breath out......

How can it be impossible when.....

windows will work on any motherboard!! I am sure there are some drivers that are built into the motherboard. So like the graphic card with the P800 those drives are not such in the memory but on the chip that handles the graphics understand !??!?!?!?!?

You can plug in any graphic card and DOS will work regardless driver or not installed.

I cant see why it wont work!

If the drivers are not on the chips itself then why not install the different driver. It must be possible!

I dont know I am just hoping it will work cause i want it to work. but we will see if it works or not!.

I guess if it does not all you need to do is reflash it back to old version!

Yes, P800 ZenMaster.

I think it will be like the T68m and T68i.

I'll wait, and won't buy a P900, it isn't so nice like the P800. I asked many people, and showed the Photos. Everyone said that the P800 is much nicer. The Color, the Design, and the back of this device is GREAT.

As we have most of the features of the P***
It would make more sense to just have the applications that the p800 dosent have flashed from the P*** firmware
No need to worry about screen colours or other conflicting issues

I think also! The P800 is much more modern looking P800. It has smooth lines like a diablo. Where the new P900 looks like lamo before. Boxy looking!
