Hi,

I'm wondering whether my backup files from the P800 in any way may be implemented in the T610. I'm espcially interested in copying my backed up contacts from the laptop to the T610.

And, in regards to this, is it possible to use the P800 docking station with the T610? I see no other way to make the laptop and T610 interact, since the laptop doesnd't support neither IR nor Bluetooth, and the T610 was delivered to without any cables or docking stations of any sort.

Thanks in advance,
Louis

you could synchronise your contacts with outlook from the p800 then syn cthem with the t610.
but without any form of communication for the t610, this will be hard

the t610 does not work with the p800 cradle, as far as i know.

and why cant you just send the contacts from the p800 to the t610 using bluetooth/IR ?

Hi Mixin,

My P800 has broken down for the 4th time, and is now to be replaced by a new phone. However, thanks to the rather odd guys in the store where I bought it, the phone (along with all the papers documenting the three reperations already made) is now on its way to Stockholm where SE will review the darned thing and blah blah blah before it's finally replaced by a new one.

Meanwhile I have gotten my hands on a T610, and now I need to insert all the contacts stored on my laptop into the new phone. I was always very careful about making backups of the P800, but I never synchonized it with Outlook (as I've always experienced problems with this when doing it with my earlier Nokia phones). I'm however sort of in the telecom business myself, so I should be able to get my hands on a new P800 before SE is reacts and sends me one themselves. I'll try to do the IR thing, then.

Thanks for your swift answer

Can you transfer all contacts at once from P800 --> T610 via BT or IR?

I don't know, but I will hopefully know later on today. I'll keep you posted.

yes you can send all the p800 contact to the t610

choose the all folder of contacts on the p800 and select send folder via or ir and it will work. much faster of course

one note: since the t610 cant handle all the fields of the p800 you may have a few buggy transfers of some contacts, at least i did

I had no problems apart from the one described above. The T610 doesn't handle all the contact fields in the P800, hence I now have a few guys listed as e.g. "John Doe Motorola" (whereas the P800 has the same guy listed as John Doe, employed at Motorola).

I purchased a USB charger/data cable from PC-Mobile of Honk Kong for $29.50 (including a car adapter). It took about a week to get to the US.

I have a P800 and I just got my wife a T610. I hooked it up to her PC and sync'd in less than a minute! It works fine, but you have to make sure com5 is checked. (Look at the instructions on the web site.)

I bought it because I travel a lot and really hate carrying all the different power adapters, so I like the USB chargers.

I have been told by many that there is no USB Charge/Data cable for the P800, but here it is.

Product # CSE8U

Good luck!
