Ouch! You'll have five long days to exercise your patience. Maybe this is what the Americans call separation anxiety! LOL Anyway, congratulations on your purchase! Might be an useful accessory for me as well when I get back to work.

All very well but you've got to buy a new, separate data cable as well as the desk stand.

The one that is fixed to the DSS-20 is not removable.

A bit of a con, or what?

yeah.. I noticed that too but fortunately I wojn't be using it for sync (I already use BT or IR). I will be using it simply as a desk hands free.

yes it has been received at home but as I said earlier, until I get back from Frankfurt to UK tomorrow I can't test it!

You can be sure I will give my opinion here over the weekend

I'm home now and trying the CSS-20 and to be honest, photos won't look any different to the pic I posted in my first post in this thread

We are all dying to hear your opinions about it.
Is it worth buying?
How are you and the far end experiencing the sound?

Ok well the CSS-20 comes in the usual accessory packaging which requires great perseverance, personal strength, a very sharp knife and some bandages to get into it.

Once extracted I was quite surprised by the small size of the CSS-20 even though I have seen the pictures on the :SE: shop site and on the global support page.

You need to plug in the charger that came with your phone in order for this to work. There is the normal full width connector so you can plug in a headset or data cable.

When you connect the phone it switches to the 'in car' profile which is more than my in car pama plug'n'go kit does as this only switches to headset profile!

The unit has three switches, 2 on the front and one on the right hand side. The big push button on the front is for answering or disconnecting a call and the smaller push button behind that is for muting the call. The sliding button on the side switches between speaker and headset.

I tested with 3 calls and in all cases I could hear loud and clear. The other parties all said I was loud and clear too and one of them even said they had to hold their phone away from their ear because I was coming across so loud!

Speaking of volume, the CSS-20 does not have a volume switch but you can adjust the speaker volume from the handset in the normal manner.

All in all I am very happy with this accessory. Its one that should have been available years ago but it was well worth the wait.
