just went round to a mates house... and he showed me this bit of software hes been working on...
it modifies the was the system handles all the applications and then puts them in wide screen
its really good for surfing on internet, cos it menas the pages are wider...
he said its only a beta version.. so he didnt give me a copy... but i took one photo of the main screen...

ill post more when i persuade him to let me use it again

WOW! that is kool.

I would love to be able to turn everything sideway's, but does it use up loads of CPU and therefore really slowdown the phone??

Edit: couldn't it just be a picture he's made?!! ... will have to wait and see I suppose...

People this is impossible wake uppppppppppp. Another one of these photoshop tricks. This is one handy cool thing to have if possible. But if this software is true and is out, then i guess this would be what every P800 user had been dreaming about.

That is a damn good photoshop if it is one. Regardless, the P800 can't display TEXT like that and that is all what we're looking for, is it not (i.e., Opera)?

looks impossible to b photoshop unless he made the image and transferred it to his fone and used a full screen picture viewer then took a foto of it...but then the point of doing it is pretty stupid

Of course it's a fake....the icons are alway displayed in a certain order...if you look at this screenshot you will see it is just the 2 screens (which are individually in the same order as on a normal P800 screen) stuck together...you can even see the feint line near where it says Remote Sync...look to the right of it...the line is the same distance as the edge of the screen would be on a normal P800 screen shot...good fake but fake nonetheless...had the person taken the effort to ensure the icons where in the usual order as would have to be the case then the fake would have been even better!

The order, had it been a good fake, would be from left to right and top row: Communicam, Pictures, Video, Audio
2nd row: Internet, messages, contacts, phone,
3rd row: calender, tasks, jotter, voice memo
4th row: calculator, time, viewer, remote sync

yeh, got excited when I first saw it but now I realise I could do just the same quite easily... I dont see how someone could restructure the whole phone unless he's designed his own firmware!!

otherwise by now we'd all have customized our phones, which is the reason we're waiting for UIQ 2.1

If you can give us a video demonstration then I'll believe you!

I hope MixiN is not showing a fake. It seems pointless to prepare such fake items. No one wins from it. As MixiN has over 500 posts I assume he/she is a responsible person.

What is UIQ2.1? Does this new software confirm the rumours/specs/details that the P800 "IS" future proof?

Can we install it ourselves, or do we have to find a dedicated dealer?

Definately a sceptic on this one - the software would have to create a new screen layout for everything that runs! It would be fantastic, but I don't think so.

For instance - from that screen, what would it look like if you closed the virtual flip?!

That's if I've understood what it does properly...

it would be interesting to see MixiN response to the claims that this is a fake. we will just have to wait and see.
