Hey I'm off to go and purchase a P800 tommorow after giving up on the Siemens SX1.
Could someone give me a rundown of all the firmware versions available and also which one comes with new P800s?
Cheers

Search wouldn't show all versions available and which one comes with the phone.
Neither does that site..

The web site I gave you lists the latest version firmware for the phone. A new phone may or may not come with the latest version, but it's usually best to update to the latest version when you get the chance.

the phone is delivered with the version that is the latest at the time it's finished at factory... what that is all depends on when it's made....

It makes no difference where you got the phone. In order to upgrade the firmware you will need to go to your local service center. There they will upgrade the firmware for you (free of charge during warranty period)

Here you go:
Firmware version corresponds with the Organizer version. As you will see, there was never a firmware package called R1D or R2D. There were quite a few firmware packages containing R1D phone and R2D phone. The phone firmware part of the phone is pretty stable and may change the least. I believe the list looks something like:

R1A
?

R1B
- Phone R1A
- Bluetooth R2C

R1C
- Phone R1B
- Bluetooth R2C
- Bug Fixes and/or improvements

R1F
- Phone R1D
- Bluetooth R2C
* Important audio bugfix for bluetooth headsets
- Bug Fixes and/or improvements

R1G
- Phone R1D
- Bluetooth R2C
- Bug Fixes and or improvements
* Phone would shut of and not load back up after all internal memory was used up. This was fixed.
- First Firmware included with US Phones.

R2A
- Phone R2D
- Bluetooth R5A
- User Enhancements
* MP3 player in phone mode
* Ability to select multiple files
* Full screen pictures
* Full screen video
* Ability to zoom into pictures with higher resolution and move them around
* New screen saver
* Camera Mute
* Camera Night Mode
- Bug Fixes and improvements

R2B
- Phone R2D for North America
- Phone R2F elsewhere
- Bluetooth R5A
- Bug Fixes and improvements

As long as carphonewarehouse is an official service center, they will have to upgrade it under warranty period free of charge.

Its ok DawildOne, there is always a next time. Any way the best part is that you are getting the P800. So enjoy

@DaWildOne (or temporrarily, DaTamedOne)

If not driving but instead P800'ing, I can recommend instead Stunt Run (comes free) and Geopod for the P800 - two excellent racing games!!!

Bad luck tho' (I failed first time, tho' 1st time passers have a far higher incidence of accidents in their first year's driving; only bummer's the cost of more lessons+test! )

Steven.

the main bummer is that i have to wait til 7th october to take it again!!! price doesn't really bother me as i've just got a new job/promotion!!!! so not everything in my life is down the toilet!!!!

but seriously should be delivered tommorrow, can you recommend any good games/apps not really bothered what they.... i'm just into gadgets!! would prefer freeware stuff

i would appreciate any advice

also i have heard a lot about a camcorder app for the p800 and people saying that you need a recent firmware to make it work proper? is there any truth to this?

just to bring us back to topic!!!!
