If you find any more applications that work, post them below with a link to the site, and I'll add them to this list. Also I am currently investigating the network access issues. The T610 implementation of J2ME does NOT support sockets, maybe in another firmware revision)

The Files that need transfering (via BT / IRDA / WAP) are the .jar files, the .jad files are text description files(open them in notepad if you like) used by some J2ME runtimes to check for updates etc....

I have problems with all programs using the internet. They do connect the GPRS but they don't download/upload anything. My GPRS settings are ok, WAP and email work fine. The only thing I could think of is that it is trying to use the WAP-APN instead of the WEB-APN. Is there any way to check which one it uses?

I think you are suppose to transfer those .jar files rather than .jad file to the phone !

From the same website, I have now tested "Spruce Blocks", "Fiver" and "Chess Buddy" on the T610.

Spruce Blocks is the indispensible Tetris clone and is OK but not perfect (there is no rapid drop facility) and will do me nicely till a better one turns up.

Fiver is an odd grid game where you "flip" groups of stones to change the colour of the board.

Chess Buddy is, well, a chess playing program. It is quite big and takes ages to load and exit but amazingly actually plays chess! I haven't tested a game to the end, so I don't know how it deals with castling and stuff, but the basic start of a game seemed fine. You can save and reload games too.

I have tried chessbuddy and it is only a demo which allows 10 moves, but you can castle.

Yup! Just discovered that myself!

As to transferring them to the phone, I do it by Bluetooth: copy them to the "My Documents" section of my iPAQ and then "Browse Files" using the phone. I think it is the same with a BT computer.

You can transfer them by IR too, I would guess, but then you would need to send them from your computer/handheld actively, rather than "pull" them using the phone.
