Apple's new iSync 1.1 works great for syncing Address Book contacts, but the calendar sync is not yet activated, although the UI elements are already visible in the sync panel. It turns out that even most of the functionality to sync the P800's calendar with iCal is also present.

So if you want to enable iCal syncing with the P800, simply open the following plist text file:

/Library/Application Support/SyncService/501/SymbianConduitDefaults.plist

in your favorite text editor and change the following lines

<key>kNSSyncDeviceUseCalendars</key>
<false/>

to

<key>kNSSyncDeviceUseCalendars</key>
<true/>

Save the file and sync along. Although it works great for my calendar entries, it is possible that there may be some bugs that I haven't found yet. So use at your own risk.

Just use TextEdit. You can find it in your Applications folder.

You don' t need to use a text editor - you do it in the Sharing panel. Also, since Bluetooth needs extra ports for negoriation and buffering, you need to open a few more ports (3000-3004)

Go to Control Panels > Sharing
Click on the Firewall Tab and then the New button (for new hole in the wall)
With the slide-down sheet, click on:
Port Name: Other
Range: 3000-3004
Description: Bluetooth

save and restart the Mac (to be sure) and it works!

Is this still working for you guys? Any bugs or errors show up? I'm so worried about messing up my phone and having to reset and start over again (for the 19th time).

Thanks.

i still cant get it going....when i try the sharing file..and open to firewall...i cant seem to change any of the choices...so....let me go back to text edit, which was the first solution offered...why arent there any scripts on the plist window?

hey..i have a respectable job...but so far this is beyond me...

keep helping....please!

I wouldn't turn that flag on, if I were you.. I did it and it corrupted my .Mac, iSync database and the phone.. There is a reason Apple didn't ship it with the feature enabled..

Apple screwed the pooch on this iSync release.. use at your own risk.

Um - I don't know where it went, but IGNORE my previous comments on the Firewall. I had multiple tabs with Esato posts on them, and I posted it into the wrong thread...stoopid. Should have read the whole thread before doing it..

sorry!

I had one event that wouldn't sync, tried over and over, removed it and re-added it... Then my database got corrupted... blech!

I really hope Apple gets off their butts and fixes this.. The t68i days were so wonderful and now this....
Go Away or I will replace you with a very small shell script.
