Hi

I have read the various posts on vodafone settings for MMS etc.. and I think I've got it right

BUT

I have tried to send and MMS... it gets to 100% then tells me

"Not Accepted, Message Too Big"

I'm on Vodafone PostPay and downloaded the settings from the SE site...

Any ideas? Its only about 56k in size

Cheers

A lot of networks have size limits because their servers can't handle anything bigger. Call and ask them if they've got a size limit

please do...

and whether you need to have told them to "activate" vodaphone live or anything...

I can send MMS but not as a high quality photo.. they end up as about 95kb and that won't send.

I don't get that message though which is worrying.. mine stops at 94% but I think its generic, like "MMS Sending Failed".

A definate size limit would be useful.

I seem to remember 30kB being one of the "limits" in the MMS spec. I've kept mine below this where possible and not had problems. Tried a couple around 50kB and did have the "too big" error. If it is a 30kB limit, then that does seem a little bit low in my opinion. Afterall, an email that size is about 7 pence on my Voda GPRS tariff.

Hi,

Well, I have the same problem of getting message to big errors on Vodafone. Just called them up and they confirmed that the maximum MMS size is 30kB.

They may increase this is future, but could not give any time scale. She also told me that there is no difference on the message size limit between vodafone live and non-live phones.

This is annoying - I'll have to send my 90kB images as emails now!

C Ya...

30kb is diabolical.

Even 50kb would be unsatisfactory, but usable...

Arse.

This MMS pish isn't all the advertising made it up to be. First i get a phone and find i can't send cross networks. Then a fecking size limitation, all for only 40pence a message. Anyone else feel ripped off? Send pictures and sound my left bollock! :-(

Try www.nowmms.com , they allow cross network and international mms, but you need to subscribe and alter the settings in your phone. But this will make mmses free (you only pay the gprs rate). Works for me on Voda UK

Vodafone say that they are trialling cross network with O2 and Orange for the past 3 days. If trials go well then it should be up and running.
