EPOCWARE just released Handy Day 2.5. I thought that version 2.0 was great, but the upgrade makes it .... Wow!

What's new in Handy Day 2.5:

1. Fixed the problem with the Camera button.
2. Lock phone after timeout feature.
3. Locked mode indicator.
4. Fixed the problem with IMAP accounts.
5. +15 days trial period.
6. Autostart after phone turn off/on.
7. Lock with the Blue button.
8. Changes to save battery power.
9. Lock/unlock dialog: bigger buttons, Jog dial and Blue buttons choose Yes.
10. Jog dial back and front are locked in the locked mode.
11. New Calendar entry is created with the current date.
12. Jog dial press launches the New popup, next press dismisses it. 13. Calendar appointments coloring: past in gray, coming in red, current in blue, others in black.

The "Changes to save battery power", does that include not activating the backlight when the screen is touched, even when locked?

Sorry Goblin, the backlight is still activated when you touch the phone in the locked mode. I e-mailed this problem to Epocware, and they said that they will reconsider my request. So, if enough people e-mail them, then it will probably be included in the next release.

First of all, there are two files that you can download from the Epocware website. Make sure you download the UPGRADES file. Then here is what I did:

a) Close the Handy Day program.
b) Turn off and then turn on my P800
c) Install the upgrade from the computer; when this is done, you will see a Handy Day upgrade icon in Applications
d) Click on the Handy Day upgrade icon from Applications (make sure that it is not the Handy Day program)
e) Select "Install", and it should upgrade Handy Day for you
f) Now start Handy Day. It should be version 2.5
g) Then you can uninstall the Handy Day Install program from your P800 (make sure you don't delete the actual Handy Day program).

Hope this helps.

@gabster

I had the exact same problem, you need to rename the .sis file as I believe it has the same name as the original version (clever, huh!)

This solved my problem and I am now running the upgrade happily.

Good luck

Possible reason:

If you bought original 1.5 then you would have had upgrade to 2.0. This put an install application on your P800 which you ran to upgrade 1.5 to 2.0. After you finished that installation you should have uninstalled the upgrade application as it is no longer needed and takes up memory space.

Looks like you still have the 1.5-2.0 upgrade installed which is why the 2.0-2.5 upgrade application will complain because you have the original still in the P800. Uninstall the first Upgradeinstallation application.

re: backlight coming on in lock mode.

I would prefer not to loose this, but for it to be an option.

Reason-

I use my P800 as an alarm clock and frequently check the time in the middle of the night. I would have to turn the light on if this changed ....a real hassle
