Polancer,
regarding the Barrel Compensator on the CZ-75 ....no you can't just buy that. all compensators are made to order. or if there is a ready-made model- you still need a gunsmith to have him attach the thing. and the accurizing method is not to be trusted to any machine-operator guy! you have to have a trusted gunsmith (preferably who also know the reason why you want it installed there) and have him work on it very well, giving him time for trials. if not.... you'll have your gun ruined instead! that is why Lantin gave me a Php25k quotation on that CZ. well, i'm sure some people here will tell me it's over-priced and Tony Pascual may do it with a lower fee and we trust him more, but thats business for them. Lantin now feels he is also selling his name. anyway....
i'll show you more modified guns when we meet again, Polancer. you'll understand more why they put those modifications. in the meantime... check out the numerous gun disciplines and formats... IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association, http://www.idpa.com/); IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation); Three gun competitions; Open and Limited Class; Police Pistol Combat/Competition (http://www.eohc.ca/ppc.asp); and our PPSA (Philippine Practical Shooting Association), etc. they have those things you're now interested in. search them on the internet, i'm sure you'll find more explicit explanations.
sa weekend na tayo mag-firing, Polancer! forget school muna, hahahha!

THANKS BOYSAINT! ARMS from SHOOTERS i saw a 1911 cal.45 for only 10k... i think these guns are made in cagayan de oro. Is this ok for carry?home defense? or how about if i changed my mind and plan to use it for practical shooting? how about armscor vs norinco? Are there any cheap brands you can suggest that has a good feedback.THANKS! |

Welcome to the Gun Afficionado's thread RGV250! I am a newbie myself...so I guess I could not offer much help with regards to your querry.
I haven't heard anything about the ARMS/Shooters line of FAs.
On the other hand, many people recommended Armscor guns to me before I finally picked my 9mm Taurus 24/7 Pro. They say its a good basic gun to begin with...and since it's a 1911, you can upgrade parts at your own pace. When you buy this gun, you also help the local gun industry and the workers that Armscor employs. Sadly, the gun is too big for my small hands.
On Norinco...well, I have also heard a lot of good things about this gun in the different forums. The Yanks are drooling over it (1911 line) but are having great difficulty in acquiring one because said brand (made in China) is banned in North America. I also read somewhere that Norinco's pistol barrels are tough to crack...reportedly one of the best in the entire lot of pistols in the whole world. Last Sunday, I and two shooting buddies were chatting with a Range Officer at Armscor-Marikina. When the topic shifted to Armscor and Norinco guns...he said, between the two, he would pick the Norinco. "Matibay daw." |
