im not saying that i cannot afford to call.. most of the time i do.. but when the time comes that i have to text i find it difficult to do so.
With the cut-down text plan that globe did, nowadays its more practical to call than to text. Believe me I DO CALL MORE OFTEN than using the SMS.
You just have to face the fact that texting using the T68 is much harder than Nokia phones. But the rest of the other functions, Nokia lags Ericsson.
Kaya nga i was asking for your opinion if there is anyone out there who knows a BETTER TECHNIQUE OR METHOD in texting using his/her T68 that maybe i haven't discovered.
This question was raised not for the main purpose of the phone (calling or texting or GPRS) but because before i switched i knew the PROS/CONS of having one.

I can see how you react when a small shortcoming on your T68 (like difficulty in texting) is brought out....it amazes me on how grown men act like kids.

No phone out there is perfect, maybe near to perfection but still has some ironing worked out.

@GRIFTER
You can make the write new SMS function as your number 1 shortcut.

If you want to send an SMS, you push up the joystick key(? Well on the T39, we just press and hold the up arrow key for a while)

Keep cool peeps. I guess Ferrarista44 was only stating that as POV (designed for calls, etc), not to raise a judgement statement of who can (or cannot) afford to make calls.

Thanks for that tip GoWIN. I already know that shortcut. My problem comes when the message is already composed, is there any other shortcut for me to send the message quickly?

Well i wouldn't want to raise a fuss on the forum, it's just that i was asking for some tips on texting--that's it.

Maybe it just came out with a scent of insult.

ANYWAY, if i can re-design this phone, id like to have the Ericsson functionality,sync,GPRS,the REAL TRI-BAND,colored screen, and Nokia 8890 casing, dynamic memory, and the fast texting capabilities of Nokia

I agree with you grifter. It did take me awhile to get used to using the T-68 having been a nokia user since Globe started its GSM service. Even until now, I wish SE would look at the ease of SMS on the Nokias when looking for improvements on their fones.

Now, paging GOWIN, ARNOLDC and my other EB buddies, when is Smartnet going to release the SW upgrade to our fones? Sana, we have a date so we could plan another EB just for that occassion!!! Please advise and keep us posted.

Anyway,

@GRIFTER
Well, the best you can probably do for now is to memorize the number shortcuts.

I think when u post using a mobile it posts twice. I guess that's a standard in mobile comm-- Redundancy, msgs sent more than once to ensure correct transmission.

You are truly right Ferrarista,
Our T68 is made to call not to text Texting for for Nokia phones only, I people can only afford to text they might as well buy Nokia, cheap way of communicating and a phone na ginawa yata para sa SMS lang, mahirap ang buhay ngayon mga pare, kaya 1st and foremost pagtitipid muna ang inuna ng mga tao, lalo na dyan sa atin.

->GPRS, How is new T39 and what color do you have now? thanks for informing zjl13

Attn : zjl13 - I'm from S'pore too, I'm planning an EB here at madaming ding interested, you can PM or call me at 97967520 or 93656193. Nainggit ako sa Pinoy EB kaya pinauso ko na din dito.

I just love my T39 and T68

hello out der, i dunno w/ u guys but i experimented on my t68 & i discover that after composing txt msg, when it ask for the no. to send the msg to, i just right-click the joystick & then the options menu flashed with the dropdown menu: "1 phone book 2 groups 3 SIM entries..." i click 1 & input the first letter of the name of the person (stored in my phonebook) & presto the no. appeared with ur msg being sent to that person. i hope in some little way, i was able to help GOD BLESS!

@ferrarista44

Err .. im positive that you can post only once from WAP devices.

The problem i think is with the delayed confirmation that the message had been posted. I see a lot of single WAP postings.

Probably network related problem.
