What do people make of he "digital" bluetooth headsets about to come on the market e.g. Bluespoon digital, and Sound ID?
I've decided to hold off buying the HBH 60 or the Jabra BT 300 and go straight to digital - the sound quality will be so much better. |

Well I don't like the styling of the HBH-60 and I can't imagine how they can improve the sound quality of the HBH-30 I've been using for quite a while so I guess I will be curious as to what benefits come from these new headsets.

Ok, lets clarify something first... Bluetooth IS digital. So ALL Bluetooth headsets are digital.
This is misleading advertising by the new so-called Digital Bluetooth headsets... what the new Digital Bluespoon offers is a built-in digital DSP... it cleans up the incoming audio, and has a small EQ built-in to boost frequencies... but in terms of signal clarity...Bluetooth is already digital, so the best that these new headsets can do is smoothen out quanitization noise, and balance the EQ. |

Thanks for the clarification. But I hope that these digital bluetooth headsets do clean up the noise because the sound quality on all the headsets I've used has been very poor and patchy ( SE HBH 15, 20, 30, Jabra BT 200, and Buespoon Panther).
Hopefully digital will be a big leap forward. |

That is true,..of course the headsets themselves are digital all of them.
But the algorithms/DSP-like (speech enhancements) , they are quite different from the normal bluetooth headsets.
Noise cancelling and audio filtering for instance are adaptive, meaning it depends on the surroundings.
The systems will be aggressive, if theres a lot of noise,..and non-aggressive in quiet areas.
Bluespoon Digital also have two microphones placed in a certain angle/distance from each other.
Pseudo Boom microphone feature,..it makes a "virtual boom" around the area...speech is clearly enhanced by these features.
