Noticed yesterday that all my SMS messages from known sources are showing up as their mobilenumber counterpart. Curious, i fired up my contacs and i got "not enough memory" message, both in Flip off and Flip on mode. Several restarts later, still the same thing. Finally, a master reset and a restore from backup phone normalized.

Phone PDA details: CXC162001 R1F01 021217
Phone: R!D CXC162002

So far it has not happened again, but i shudder at the thought when im travelling and i do not have my notebook on hand with a phone/PDA that i cannot access my contacs with. Any thoughts on the matter would really be appreciated.

The phone only has 16M of RAM (Ugghh!), so one application that didn't close can clog up your memory.

The easiest way to fix this is to install file manager on your phone and use the task manager option in it to close unused tasks.

Still, if you use up applications and then close them, you often don't get all the memory back (memory leaks). The EPOC operating system apparently does not reclaim all the memory back. So, unless they plan on fixing it in a future firmware update, it looks like closing the phone and reopenning it will flush all the memory. Annoying.

Do the windows maneuver... RESTART.

hehe. But applications filling up the memory prolly wasn't the problem in your case...
Since several restarts didn't do it....
