Now i owned a Ericsson T65 and i want to buy a r520 or a T39. Is any differences between these (T39 and R520) beside the design? What phone did you advise me to buy? In my country T39 is about 170$ and R520 100$.
What "Speaker with proximity switch" means?R520 suport ems? You can put pictures and ringtones to each contact from phonebook? Phonebook is like T65 phonebook, with many phone numbers, e-mail, first, last name?
It has the same calendar? How much battery takes?
Thanks |

Keep T65! Is the best in his category! Maybe t39 if you want bluetooth! |

T39 and R520 have identical software and performance, but 520 have in addition one button more (choice-button) and have a loud speaker function (proximity switch = loud speaker goes down to normal when you put the phone close to your ear [or something else]). Since these phones are professional phones they outperform T65 even though it (T65) is newer. T68 is in my opinion just a continued (and successful) development of R520. One major drawback of the T39 is the small screen. One major drawback of the R520 is the big phone size (which I find to be a nice size for my big hands). R520 have the same size screen as T65. EMS for both phones. Same style contact list as T65. No picture and ringtone to contacts, but you can download ringtones from Esato. And of course both Bluetooth and IR. On SE site and gsmarena at r520 spec doesn't say anything about ems. Are you sure that you canot assign a ringtone to a contact? Even Ericsson 2628 can do that.

I THINk the the r520 and the t39 is able to assigns a ring tone for a specific contact.
you might be a little unconfortble with the size of a r520 basically the real differences are the size, the screen size, and that speaker thing. just think of adding an mp3 (hpm 10) player on the r520 its going to be really long..
i used to have an R600 which is i think half T65 and half a3168, i ditched it since it really has less functionality. |

i had a t39 (miss it very much) and i was able (with R4A) to assign tones to different names. the t39 is excellent and i love it. i would highly recommend it. i never tried the r520 but i prefer t39 because of its size and i know i would never use the speaker phone. the screen isn't too big, but for me its no big deal. |

As Kristaga´s comment, they are all great phones. with EMS, calendar, big memory for contacts... but no picture/ringtone assignment to contact. You can find more information in threads R520/T39 and R520. Hope to be help.

that is true about picture assignment to contact, you can't do it. but i know for a fact you can assign different ringtones to different contacts since i was able to do it on my t39m with R4A built 02w13. |

Go for the R520. I HAVE one. U can assign a ringtone to a contact. My fw is R4A008. The bluetooth is better than a P800 ! Went bluejacking with a couple of friends and my r520 could detect phones they could not. The speakerphone function is great. Loud and clear. Signal strength is also very very good on the r520. Great phone, value for money.

R520 & T39 are pretty similar except for size, speaker phone (r520) & active flip (t39). Both are still good phones & yes, they can assign specific ringtones up to 10 contacts only though.
