On the West Coast (US 1900mzh) my T637 has gotten the best reception from all the SE phones I've ever used. That includes the P800, T68m, T68i, T306 and the T616. I have better reception with the T637 than even my Moto v600.

I have to say that se phones seem to be inferior to Samsung and Nokia in this respect! (Sorry! )

I live in an area with quite a variable and not very good signal, and found the T610 gets quite a poor signal, sometimes going to 'sos calls only', same for the T68. My P800 is slightly better, but even that isn't immune to the 'sos calls only' problem!

The best phone I've had signal-wise was a Samsung V200 - a pain of a phone in other respects, but held a signal brilliantly!

@Richlok. that is, because ATT/Cingular overlays the 850 band with the 1900 band, but the 850 is better quality and reaches farther.

I guess with no contention the '96 Ericsson R ? - Satellite Phone is truly one of the best, having great antenna reception

I have had a T68i, A T610 and now a K700.

* T68i - No good signal receiver.
* T610 - Same bad signal receiver.
* K700 - Good signal receiver.

In the basement of the company I work i got no signal at all with the T68i and the T610.

With my new K700 I have yet to find a place where I will get no signal!

I guess with this aspect, we can evidently see what fone has the best antenna reception if we are to compare fone models with internal-built antennas to that of which do have external-built antennas From my experience, I can say that the fones which I had then and now which have external antennas gives better coverage reception (signal), also to consider it's transfer calls!

@ ResidentEvil: Yeah, but I don't go into AT&T's current 850mhz band in LA. I'm strictly (Cingular) 1900mhz until the deal is done. The T616 is also a 850/1900mhz phone but it's RF was crappy. If I could pick up AT&T's 850mhz band in the West, my screen will show up as 'Cingular Extend'. It never has. AT&T did strike a deal to use our Network out here (hence their 'doubled' up coverage).

I've used SE phones T68i and T610, and Ericsson T39 for the past four years at uni and have come to expect where reception is really bad. However got a samsung c100 as a birthday present a few months ago and have been unexpectedly surprised at how much better the reception was than the SE phones in places of low reception. The other day, i was stuck on the underground in one of the stations and my c100 went off- i chatted for almost half an hour without any drop in signal. Previously my SE phones wouldnt even have registered a single bar. Pity the c100 is nothing compared to the SEs in other departments!

I must say that I can confirm the notoriously good reception with the k700 - if connections drop, it's always because the other end of the line has trouble - better than most phones I can compare with. I suppose the K750/W800 will be as good or even better. Has anyone yet compared these two?
