I have a t68i using Rogers AT&T in Toronto, Canada, operating predominantly on 1900 band. Reception generally is poor. Rogers says they are upgrading their towers to incorporate new lower frequencies to improve indoor reception. Is that the 850 Mhz band you mentioned?
Will it make a discernable difference? Is there a way to search for a current 900 Mhz signal as well as the 1900 Mhz signal? I'm not sure I can wait until Q4 when the towers are upgraded. I LOVE THIS PHONE but I need to be able to use it.... |

The T610 is better than My p800 or My T68i, gets connection where the others dont even show a signal...strange I thought that the T610 was based on the T68i kernal...

Reception is not just down to the phone but also the service provider. I have no problem with reception except in areas of bad coverage, and this is normally in hilly areas. I use T68's and R520's and they are very similar in reception, although I must say that the R520 does hold on to a signal longer than the T68m or i that I use. I did find that my T29 and T39 were both about the same as my R520.

I have a T39, T68i and T28. I would say that the T39 has - by far - better reception. This is for one reason: it has an external antenna.
Ericsson engineers have confirmed this - and unofficially have agreed with me (not for "print").
I have sent back four T68's for poor quality - and reception was just fair. The T28 also has an external antenna, but lacking Bluetooth and GPRS, I don't really use it but keep it in the drawer for backup.

No way is SE is going to use their silly and unstable OS. Your phones will hang like a pc. Sure not a good idea to carry something so unreliable and crappy. Looks nice but not reliable. Not the way to go mate.
Honestly, M$ sucks. But people like to play game, that's why their OS had been popular. Think about it...if one day, Linux or some other OS does have game support. I think M$ can close its door and say bye bye.... |

I would probably say the T60c/d, as it has an external antenna which can be extended even further. It's a CDMA phone, so I suppose would make a difference. |

i have t68i and t310. both have a near-matched signal capability. but i think t310 handles the dropped signal much better than t68i. if you go to the near-death signal area, t310 has better ability to mantain the signal (still can send and receive sms) than t68i. same operator. |

my t300 had the best signal ever seen on a phone before my new p800 . T68 really has a poor reception,in my opinion p800 is the best at the moment!

In my house, I have tried the T68m, T68i, T300, T310, and R520. They all have comparable signal except for the T310, which is the only phone that keeps dropping off the network when the signal gets too low (my house has horrible signal). |

Is it my mistake or is it not true that reception is also dependant upon how many other phone users are connected to a cell tower?
I understand that reception can change upon factors such as surroundings, and the frequencies used for transmission, but no one seems to mention anything about user density, surely that makes a difference in whether you can get a connection or not?
On another point though, would interference in a particular area affect the quality of reception too?
