you have 3 choices: T-Mobile, ATT, Cingular. T-Mobile is the best...without a doubt

Sorry to disagree, but when we speak about reception we speak of course under difficult circumstances. You can find them anywhere e.g. in mountainous areas or in urban areas in an underground garage for example etc. Its no point to say coverage in a country is very good when the discussion is about how good a phone receives its signal!
I totally agree with you about the T39. Its a great phone with very small size, great reception, quick WAP over GPRS, great battery autonomy nice design and could still sell a lot!

My T300 has shocking reception here in Aussie... I think Telstra just upgraded to 1800... not sure.
If you want good signal on ALL phones.... Go to New Zealand and try the Vodafone Network. Now if you know NZ, you know it is very hilly and has mountains. I drove in NZ for about 4 days and had signal the WHOLE way. Places where there is noone living, and the road is an old dirt track, still signal!
I had 3 phones at the time, Ericsson T65, Nokia 3330 and a Nokia 5110.
T300 Is My LIFE.... Now I want a nokia Camera Phone |

I have found the P800 with TMobile in the US is a better reception phone than the T68i. I have done a few experiments. I guess I have too much time on my hands! |

my T68i had reception almost everywhere..
but the P800 has god-like reception..
no phone has yet to match it..
I had reception in the subway to some extent and almost always hv "Emergency Calls" state in the subway..
very few times hv I seen the "No Network" words on screen
so all I can say is that make way to the "root" (unix/linux meaning) of phones...
