Can Orange Unlock a P800 immediately? |

Hi folks,
I am starting a new thread with this as noone has actually come up with the answer yet.
Can Orange unlock a phone if I am prepared to pay their charges? I don't mind paying their £20 unlock fee, or 12 months line rental in advance, but I want the phone unlocked immediately, not in like a week.
Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

We can unlock but will take 7 to 10 days cos we get codes from se. Full contract charges and 20 quid admin fee. Call 150 and they will sort it. You might even speak to me!

I thought you didn't have to pay the 12months in advance anymore? I heard from some orange peeps that when it was reduced from £30/35 they also removed the 12months line rental requirement. |

Well I promised the geezer I'd post here so here it is:
I had my P800 unlocked (after a random roadtrip on Friday night.... ) by the firm below on Saturday. The bloke nipped out the shop with it, and when he returned 5 mins later my P800 was on vodaphone.
Mobile Repair Centre
177a, North End Rd

Tel: 020 7610 3103
I can recommend them very heartily, although £30 is a lot (even though thats what everyone seems to charge) for the length of time it takes.
Very nice considerring I now have my unlimited GPRS working perfectly...
I might even delete the icon for GPRS data log

Sorry to seem ignorant, but what actual benifits would I get if any for unlocking my P800
I'm on Orange with a 12 month contract.
Would it mean that a mate with a Vodafone/o2/Tmobile simm could use the phone?

Singlepoint.. they promised me GPRS then said they couldn't do it afterall as it would cost too much to put in a means to measure how much i was using, and it was just me on the whole of the Singlepoint network who wanted it.
So, they converted me to a business customer and charge me £30 a month for unlimited GPRS
Oh yes.

Poped into The Mobile Repair Shop today and had my P800 unlocked.
Highly recommend this shop as it only took 5 mins.
Praise to them for offering a great service.
Then I was walking down Tottenham Court Rd when I 'bumped' into someone else with a P800 who had been searching all day for a place to get his one unlocked.
Promptly sent him to west kengsington just hope he made it in time as it was nearly 5.15pm and the shop closes at 6pm!
Love this Phone!! |

Hi,
Well, i did make it in time and they unlocked it no problems. Very fine service they've got there, and the guy working there is really cool. No problems. My only problem is trying to get my o2 GPRS working now! see other thread...
