I hope it does. Everyone has chargers already, why ship millions of the things for nothing.

🍎 can remove whatever they want, ppl still buy iphones.
Sony is not in same position.

If I sell my phone to buy a new one, charger goes with the phone.
Then I would not have any.

They don't put chargers in boxes but then sell those chargers in their own boxes. How green!
If charger goes away then the phone should cost less. How does shipping double the amount of units in the same crate benefit the user? It's all more money for the maker. These choices should reflect on the consumer more directly.
If they wanna go green, they should work on longevity of their devices. Like give them 5 years of updates for example. Or buy them back as trade ins. Focus on repairability etc.

Not that simple.

There is no guarantee device would still perform well with android 15.
The support also depends on google and qualcomm.
Remember z3 being cut from beta 7.0?

🍎 does it because they make πŸ’° with old models that are still being made.
The 2018 iphones are still being produced and well sold.

Not even google gives 5 years.
Just 1 more than the rest.

There is trade in deals, in Taiwan.
Idk about other markets.

Quite clearly, if most purchasers already have a charger, then it's a gain for the environment. Both replies above are seriously suggesting that there are no free chargers in the house for a new phone !? I'm not sure I believe that.

If you need a higher capacity charger for a new phone, then yes, that's an additional expense, but in theory you've been charged less for the phone you've just bought (since it doesn't include a charger). This new charger should last you more than the phone you've just bought, so it's a net gain for the environment.

Did apple give a voucher to purchase charger if one needs it? Thats will be a better option to save environment. But I don't think they implement it right?
And if it cost the same even without the charger you will roughly know where they coming from. And their intentions. Is it really about saving the world or more about making money?

If 🍎 was concerned about the planet, they would not make disposable airpods.
Once broken, they cant be fixed according to ifixit ..

They always change tiny bit the size of devices to make sure old case does not fit.
The new charger does not fit the cable of 11 series.

1. Last I checked the 2020 Apple iPhone SE fits just fine into most iPhone 7 and 8 cases.
2. The iPad Pro 2018 fit perfectly into the iPad Pro 2020 cases in fact, many iPads fit into previous versions iPad cases depending on whether it’s a 9.7inch iPad or a Pro. I remember using an iPad 2 case with my iPad 4. iPad Air and iPad Air 2 were also able to share some cases.
3. What on earth are you on about saying the the new charger does not fit the cable of 11 series? The The iPhone 11 Pro (I have an 11 Pro Max) came with a USB-C to Lighting cable, same cable that comes with iPhone 12 series.
4. You can always use your older USB-A to Lighting charger with an iPhone 12 anyway.

** 1iii may have micro matrix.
https://androidnext.info/?p=6830

- Budget ipad was 9,7. Now 10.2".

- iphone 11 and 12 both have 6.1" screen. Bodies are not equal. 12 is 4.3mm shoter, 4.2mm narrower and 0.9mm slimmer. So case made for 11 is too larger for the 12.

- Pro versions have larger screen now

- I have seen tons of comments that the 20W charger available on their store is not equal to the one offered with 11 series. You need to buy the cable too (usb c to lightning). My ipad 2018 has usb A to lightning charger for example.

- iPad 10.2 2019 and iPad 10.2 2020 both have the exact same design and can therefore use the same cases.

- Yes the new iPhones have larger screens hence the bodies grew, that is pretty obvious, any time any phone grows it will need larger cases, you are not at all making a point there bud, pretty much every manufacturer has done this, in fact most manufacturers phones and tablets year to year cannot fit each other’s cases because they change the designs completely, Apple are one of the few where one can more often reuse a case, for example with the 10.2 iPads as well as iPhone SE 2020 with iPhone 7 and 8 cases.

Again, iPhone 11 Pro came with USB-C to Lightning Cable and with a charging brick that does USB-C, BOTH my iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPad Pro 2020 came with 18W USB-C charging bricks.
