1. There's 4K OLED people have been asking since last year.
2. It has OIS which could help in low-light situations.
3. Tony is just nothing. Everyone hates him.
I have no idea 🙄

Should use IBIS, not OIS.
Having OIS does not mean low iso and slower shutter.
All night samples of XAU selfie have high iso, 800 or more.
Not even counting the video jelly effect.
All cams with OIS at the moment are 1/2.55" or smaller.
If they use 1/2.55" , I'll ever buy sony again.

1. Are you comparing XA Ultra's front camera with rear camera from other phones that have OIS?
2. Most phones out there don't have sensors as big as Sony's yet many of them still captures better pictures with less blur in low-light conditions.
3. Are you sure IBIS-type of stabilisation is ready for phones? I'm not sure. The phone would get even bulkier. It's better to use OIS instead for now (they can use 5-axis OIS for now)

Ois would make real life hand held samples to look this impressive at least for non moving subjects. See iphone 7 and 8 samples that has 1/6s shutter and 100 iso. Xz2 does this with 200 and 1/8. It looks better than all others.
It could be called OSS. Optical Steady Shot. |

At this point the use of OIS (or OSS) must be mandatory for Sony |

i think that this point it's clear that Sony is confident their electronic stabilization and/or sensor abilities are sufficient and OIS is unnecessary. For video, Sony isn't wrong. They've done really well with their EIS when it comes to video stabilization and have been as good or better than other phones with OIS. For still images is where they falter and they're trying to address that using better sensors, larger sensors, additional sensors.. There's gotta be a reason why they don't want to add OIS. But I think it's pretty clear that Sony won't be adding it. Sony will be sony til the bitter end.

If they can give images in low light that's as good as if it has ois without ois then it is alright.
But I don't know any other thing that fans asked for since forever. Headphone jack? I don't think so. Someone said 4k Oled. Maybe it is that.
2. It has a large marketing budget which could help with sales. |

Sensor stabilization is more effective than optical. Exactly what they do to their Alpha, cybershot do not have OIS either, just few G or GM lenses.
OIS is around the whole module , it needs more space.
Think of a car, cam module is the wheel while OIS is the tire.
It is going to introduce jelly effect for videos.
It requires energy to work. If it is using energy, energy is lost as heat right where sensor is.
Your night vids are going to use slower shutter against your will. It means blown out lights, motion blur and more rolling shutter.
It needs smaller sensor, less space to introduce dram. Smaller sensors have less high iso performance and max iso value it can handle.
You cant compare front cam of Ultra against rear cam of other. But compare with other front cameras.
Most use 1/3.6" or 1/4" still do not use OIS.
C5 and M5 can do as good as XAU without it.
XZ2P does way better.
Bonus:
Huawei flagships do not have OIS around imx600. With worse software than Apple, p20pro puts Xs to shame after sunset.
