Z5 seems to be way shakier than all the other video samples that was released earlier, what gives.

I'm absolutely positive Sony would never describe or market that as SteadyShot. There is nothing steady about it. What gives?

what's wrong with these recent video comparisons? they're suddenly so shaky. also, the image quality are no longer as "contrasty" as the earlier ones.

are those really the retail units?

just look at steadyshot at work here:

OFF

ON

the person is even jumping.

Do we know if this guy, Basil, has a BUMM hand or not where the Z5 is being held? No we don't.

Intelligent Active mode in 4K is not as good as in 1080p, I thought you guys realised, watch other videos where they do Z5 4K and 1080p tests and you'll see...

Intelligent Active works best in 1080p.

I dont care anyway, If I use it I'll be recording in 1080p.

Oh yeah and the Intelligent Active mode is the cause of the phone overheating especially in 4K.
Several reports at Chinese forum mobiles01 say this...
Impressions of Z5 with some quick camera and video samples between the Z5 and Note 5...managed to record 40 minutes of 4K with Intelligent Active OFF, other reports on Mobile01 from the past few days are similar.

Note 5 looks better in low light front and back cam.

I want to see Manual mode.
Z5 has better stabilization on 1080p video.
And this macro shot in nature, I mean it's strange.
Macro is for different purpose...

silly supersaf. he was trying to get a macro shot of the spider but he moved away from the subject? seriously? i assume if you want a macro you want to be closer to the subject. why would he try to remedy the focusing issue by moving away? he was just making things work in the s6's favor.

similarly, how could he say the s6 had better details on that photo of the leaves? the z5 had a bigger picture of that same leaf he zoomed in to. if he made that as small as the s6's photo, the image would be sharper. he knew that that z5 has a wider angle lens so he should have moved closer to the leaves to come up with similar image sizes.

also, on that carton robot in low light, why compare them on pixel peeping level when they obviously have different sizes? he should have tried getting close to that robot with the z5 to achieve the same image sizes. he compared the robot images zoomed in with the same sizes when obviously the one taken by z5 is smaller. a smaller image zoomed int to be as big as that of the s6's would surely look less sharp. it's inconsistent and unfair. he praised the s6's front facing camera for the wider field of view without the pixel peeping but changed his standard when comparing the rear cameras.

he is comparing cameras in general, not just the sensors, lenses, and image processing. he should've tried to make it fair by comparing similarly sized images (the size of the image appearing on the photo).

i can't wait for blind comparison tests where the images are scaled to the same sizes. i think the z5 can now put up a fight.

i know the z5's camera is still not what we all want here. there's still no OIS. i even assume the lens also has some issues with random blurs as reported by some chinese users. however, that comparison is simply flawed in s6's favor.

I personally don't care about OIS.
The solution which is there works fine especially on 1080p.
