as long as they confirm no performance throttling then Z5 is gold. Water proof phone with liquid inside lol ironic. |

I'm assuming there is no liquid cooling in the Z5.
If that were the case, the French guy would most likely have mentioned something about it in that brief video.
A solution like that wouldn't go unnoticed.

Not at all, I can see they just pretent it was never an issue to shit on their last flagship. Also possible that the d00d doesnt even know anything about the interior beside S810, 23MP camere and 4K screen lol |

Well if the file is in HEVC (h.265) then it should be a smaller file when compared to a regular h.264 4k file.
I did notice something odd, it seems the Z3+ does not shot 4k video in HEVC, there is only h.265 for playback, not recording in the white paper. Where as the M5 supports both recording and playback of h.265. I wonder why Sony did not include it in the Z3+? Is it the overheating camera/cpu aspect+. And yes the 810 supports playback and recording in h.265.
hopefully Sony has fixed the overheating camera/cpu aspect and included HEVC recording, otherwise recording more than a minute or 2 of 4k on the Z5 may be the longest one can record, like in the Z3+ :/ |

Hopefully you will have your trolling engines running full BLAST for the announcements.

i think it's nice to see Tsepz excited for Sony's press conference. Hope Sony delivers to his expectations, which seems like at least a 4K screen and 4GB ram.

Because even for a mid end SoC, helio x10 media capability is incredible. Better than any SoC out there infact, it is capable of doing 1080p 480fps and 4k @ 120Fps. I hope Sony will incorporate tech similar to nVidia G sync or AMD free sync on the 4k screen so in normal operation the screen can be operation at 1080p 120Hz. That's can eliminate most of the ghosting of LCD panel and also make it incredibly smooth as Long as the frame is is higher than 60fps. |

It's just a theory, somehow noone managed to get close to those numbers. |

someone still need to write software to do that I would imagine. I think these mobile SoC have dedicated hardware to do certain things, thats why they are so efficient, not sure even a old i3 1st gen can even do that to be honest. 4K HEVC playback alone with software decoding on PC is super tasking, will need GPU support.

G sync/free sync is not for ghosting. It is to eliminate the tearing effect PC gamers experience when moving left and right too fast.
Ghosting is related to the response time of a display.

I didn't say it was used for ghosting, 120hz to eliminate the ghosting, G sync/freesync to allow variable frame rate to eliminate tearing or stuttering. That will makes things very responsive assuming it can always operate above 60fps, but can S810 do that if it still throttle, probably not.
